So Nintendo has finally unveiled the controller for its new Revolution system. And it looks like... a TV remote control. www.1up.com/media?id=2308851Apparently it runs on batteries like a normal remote, it's motion sensitive (meaning you can do stuff by tilting it different ways), and there's a port on the bottom where you can plug in all the attachments they're not going to make. So. First impressions?

Aha, finally found a picture of it I can put directly into the post: Also, Nintendo has a video up showing different ways the Revolution controller could possibly be used, which you can view here.

Though at least if you tilt it 90 degrees to the left you can pretend it's an NES controller. Which will probably be used for the NES roms they're supposed to make available.

That cant be the final controller...it has to be just a remote or something like it looks...even with the weird yet cool gyroscope controls, there are simply not enough buttons to support modern gameplay requirements...
If you dont have four main buttons, two "trigger" buttons, and at least one or two additional buttons, it just doesnt cut it
If I wanted to play games on a remote control, I'd whip out my collectors antique Magnavox VCD (special version of phillips cd-i)...not plunk down a couple hundered bucks on a new system
There was supposed to be compatibility with cube disks before, and if there still is there has to be a more advanced looking controller, or at least ports for the same...
I'm a hardcore Nintendo loyal, but gamer overall...and I wanted the Rev before diving into the 360...they d**n well better start impressing me if they still want my money

If you hadn't noticed, Nintendo has been detached from reality for 7 or 8 years now.
But the bottom of the remote has a port where you can plug in attachments, I believe there is guaranteed one that has an analog stick and another trigger button or two, where you would use your other hand. The idea is that by having that port on the bottom they can make other attachments as well. But we all know how well Nintendo has supported ideas like this in the past...

Too akward to realitically use. Kind of cool though and far better than the Gamecube controller.

It makes up for some that it can be turned around into something resembling the old controller. So that makes it a little better

It looks interesting and I'll try it, but is that picture to scale? it looks a little too small for my liking.
