I received this game for Christmas. I have been playing it on the TV and have already reached the near the end of the story. Let me start by saying that this is an incredible remake of an excellent classic. They updated a graphics while still staying true to the classic look of the orginal. It still looks like the real FF4 as it was on snes but now the graphics are sharper and the colors brighter. They also changed the background battle scenes all together to look better and more like FF6 styled backgrounds. They have also retranslated the script from the original FF2snes copy but this time they did it right. Not poorly done as it was in Chronicles, this time they rewrote the story in a way that really breathes new life into the story, makes things more logical and gives the plot a stronger sense of urgency. Infact Id go as far as to say that story is actually slightly improved and even more Memorable. I really do enjoy this new translation and script. Of course a few classic lines from the FF2snes copy will always be missed and will be mentally inserted when needed. Over all the finalized product is so good their absence can be forgiven. Also the final icing of the cake is the inclusion of being able to switch between all your old fighting party members at the end. In the orginal they merely waited in a tower and prayed for your success. Now you can swap your men between them for new fighting combinations. This is truly the perfected version of FF4. This classic Role playing game will always live on as being one of the greatest tales of fantasy, magic and science fiction ever told. An epic comparable to Lord of the Rings. There is just nothing out there quite like it. I give my praise to the creators.

I too am playing thi and enjoy it quite a bit. My only problem with the game is the fact they went and chaged the spell names. Other than that the script is amazing and the graphics are perfect. I also like the fact that as a remake they didn't feel the need to rearrange everything. All the touns have the same layout all the dungeons are the same. I also like being able to switch characters at the end and the fact there's two bonus dungeons added. I'm glad the guys at Nintendo wanted to do this and not the idiots at Squenix because they would have screwed it up. We seen their work on the Playstation version. What else I love is they have made Cid and Edward more interesting. I never really liekd Cid before and I made fun of Edward for looking like a womanly bard. I can honestly say I like them both a lot more in this version.

Normally I wait for games to go down in prive but I feel this one is important enough to get brand new with the box.

Yeah I forgot to mention it was nintendo doing it this time instead of squenix. Which really would explain why this product turned out so well. Im also glad your now a fan of this Cid. So tell me where are you in the game right now? Myself Im at the Moon with Cecil,Cid,Yang,Parom and Edward in my party. I got all the best equipment for everyone and recently killed ogopogo.

Yeah you do want the box. The front comes with Amano's artwork of Cecil,Kain and Rosa. On the back there is a picture of the legendary battle with Ogopogo. As well as a respectful homage to the orginal english version of FF4 on the snes. Where they actually show the orginal picture of the FF2(4) logo in golden letters across the red box. Also within is a nice color players manual and a big advertisement for Tales of Phantasia.

Thats pretty powerful team there. Then again in this remake they were nice enough to make all the extra characters fairly decent. No one is really a wuss. Even Edward. Watch as Edward uses Apollos harp to devaste the undead and dragons. To which they are weak to that harp. And I see your brought Rydia with you. She was the hardest one for me to give up from the old traditional cast even though its not pernament. Ive always liked Rydia alot.

At the moment I can't give up the power of Leviathan.

Ah yes while Leviathan may not be quite as powerful as Bahamut he is second best and does do good damage in the thousands. Ive gotten him to do even 5000 to 6000 damage before with his tidal wave attack.

I'm not even at 50 yet i'm in no shape to challenge Bahamut I killed 2 of the 3 Behemoths that guard him and that took every healing item I had.

I pulled off quite the miracle I beat all the trap doors with everyone still alive. Granted people died during the fight but I was able to revive them before I killed the trap doors.

I normally take Fusoya to face bahamut with so I can use double the wall. But in your case just take parom and rosa for double wall, and have cecil and two heavy hitters deliver the damage. rydia and leviathan works as well as cid with thors hammer or maybe even edge with a bunch of fuma stars.

Wow, even I couldn't do that. At least two times I didn't make it keeping everyone alive, And I tried to do so as well.

Now we can make all kinds of cool character combinations. Heres a cool Norse theme team I thought of.
Norse Team
1.Cecil with the Ragnarok sword 2.Kain with Odin's Gungnir spear 3.Cid with Thor's hammer 4.Edward with Loki's Lute 5.Rosa or Parom for healing.
(You could use Rydia to summon Odin, but it never works.)

That's as amusing as having Loki, Odin and Thor in Dragon Wariror 3.
