After giving it some thought there is one aspect fo the story that does bother me. I didn't care mucg for the way everyone treated Edward after everyone he knew and loved died. No one was hard on Cecil for freezing up after he found out that Golbez was his brother. He stood there and let his brothe run off to die and yet nothing was really said. He could have invited Golbez to fight with them god knows he forgave Kain a number of times for turning on them.

Speaking of Golbez a nice unlockable feautre would have to been to allow the use of Golbez, Tellah, and Fui-So-Ya in a new game. So that way in addition to going through the bonus dungeons there wuld be another fun unlockable feature and even more desire ot go through these dungeons.

I agree, Edward just lost everyone and then was imediately demanded to act like a man about it. Where as Cecil froze like a statue in the middle of an exploding building (the robot) where everyone could die. Though I don't think Cecil has to be obligated to want to help his brother just because he was his brother. Up until that point he was the evil golbez and thats quite a thing to learn. He was the man that made tellah give his life after all. it is funny how they think nothing of Kain being controlled though. Though in actuallity both Golbez and kain were being used.

I completely agree with you about Golbez, FuSoYA and Tellah.
These are the 13 heros of the story.
1.DarkKnight Cecil and Paladin Cecil 2.Kain 3.young Rydia and adult Rydia 4.Tellah (Was playable but then became unplayable due to plot. ) 5.Edward 6.Rosa 7.Yang 8.Parom 9.Palom 10.Cid 11.Edge 12.FuSoYa (Was playable but then became unplayable due to plot.) 13.Golbez (Not playable but was given a hero's battle sprite. This is a king tease.)
We are still lacking FuSoYa, Golbez and Tellah at the end of the game. I can accept the abscence of Tellah though. No one more then I would love to see a new plot device added where you can go on a quest to revive Tellah, just like all the rumors about Aeries and FF7. But I gave this alot of thought and perhaps its best if things remain the way they are because it leaves Tellah dying as a hero. Also we do get to see his ghost at the very end so that makes me happy. FF4,5,6 and 7 all followed the tradition of one important person dying.

It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to be able to use Golbez and the others but that I think would be a fun reward for beating the game and the dungeons. At that point you already played honestly and a lot of games offer weird codes and other features that let you use characters where your not supposed to. Like Lego Star Wars I can play through the entire game after beating it as Darth Maul.

I guess the asense of Tellah isn't too bad since there are other magic users. FuSoYa really becomes the replacement Tellah when you use him. I'm just interested in what Golbez could do he seemed to posess the power to summon as well.

Call me greedy if you want. But there really is no reason why we shouldn't of been able to play as Golbez and FuSoYa too. Here is a way we can make it work. Look to the giant of babil scene where Fusoya and Golbez head to the moon. Id say after the whale lands on the moon, you meet them, and they have short conversation about how they should work together. then they either join you or go back to Mysdia city.
Not so as not to ruin the automatic battle with Golbez and Fusoya against Zemus, we can play it like this. with whatever team you have picked out, as you approach the final floor where zemus is, and move up a few steps, both Fusoya and Golbez come down the stairs too.(wether they are in your party or not.) and they say let us try first and run right past you, and then the story progresses as it does originally with the auto battle against Zemus. This would be my way of getting around this issue and also leaving the story as it was before. (Oh yeah as you fighr zermous if they were with you, then they would be back on your team like they should be.)

Very nice way of solving that problem.

I guess the asense of Tellah isn't too bad since there are other magic users. FuSoYa really becomes the replacement Tellah when you use him. I'm just interested in what Golbez could do he seemed to posess the power to summon as well. Ok this is how I picture Golbez. Golbez would be a combination of a dark knight and black wizard. Though he would need a different title to show that he is both. Something like "Man of Darkness" This would be his skill set Fight ( Can use all the swords Cecil can use. Might be able to use all the spears Kain can use. Can use all the rods a blackmage can use.) Basically anything Cecil, Kain, Rydia and Palom can use. DarkWave (maybe, should only be done with a sword) Black Magic: Able to learn all spells even up to Meteo Now there are two different ways on handling his special spells. (We could just give him the summon command) Summon: Able to Summon Shadow Dragon. May know other summons we don't know about. Probably can't earn the trust of the same good summons Rydia can use. (Then add in Dark Magic.) Dark Magic: Hold gas spell as shown in your battle against him. Other strange spells he can use that you can't. Perhaps the special spells only the enemies can use. Like an evil version of the bluemagic command. OR (we could just give him one special command called Dark magic.) Dark Magic: You can select Shadow Dragon to summon the Shadow Dragon(perhaps other monsters) and use hold gas and possibly other monster known spells only. Just like an evil version of the blue magic command from FF5. Item(So he can use items of course) In short Fight Dark Wave Black Magic Summon Dark Magic Item Or Fight Dark Wave Black Magic Dark Magic Item Personally I think lumping his special summon under Dark magic is the more logical way to go. So I prefer my second suggestion better.

Lumping summons with his dark magic sounds good. You only ever see that one dragon.

Maybe he shouldn't use kains spears. I just thought of that because they are both knights that look alike. I just need him to use the swords cecil can use. Of course the blackmage weapons still apply though. He should also get to use all the armor cecil can use as well as the robes black mages get to use. After making his commands up, I now really wish I could use Golbez more then before.

Makes me wish I knew how to program games and whatnot. I'd just hack a rom to include that.

Well there is one thing I thought of. The hero sprite for Golbez seems to just be a black wizard using Meteo. I would be happy if we can find a gameshark code to let us hack the body of Palom and put in Golbezes sprite instead.

Special notes.
1. Be sure to keep the Genji helmet and gloves you found for cecil within Bahamuts cave. and Keep the other pair of Genji gloves you get when Kain rejoins your party. The genji helmet is the best helmet for Edge. And the Genji gloves are the best gloves for both Edge and Cid.
2. When you can use everyone at the end, go to the dwarf town underground and buy diamond armlets for all the new playable characters. this is their best arm equipment. Except for Cid who uses Genji gloves.
3. My advice on Rydia. Equip her stardust rod instead of her flame whip. both are found on the moon. The flame whip is stronger and gives her a small defense boost, but her stardust rod raises her intelligence up by 10 or 15 points and makes her magic damage much better. Also don't equiped her best armor minerva until shes at a very high level. The minerva lowers her intelligence. Instead equiped her with the light robe you can buy from the summon town. Shes better off with stardust rod and lightrobe, until she hits level 99, then she can use the flame whip and minerva armor.
4. Personally for fun, Id say don't be so quick to get rid of Excalibur and Gungnir even though the end up becoming second best weapons. They are still very powerful weapons, and have plot signifigance. I keep them for fun. But also if you want, they do a garanteed 9999 damage to Zeromus by use of Edge's throw command.
