So I was thinking of trying to find the second Baldur's Gate and play it. I've heard good things about it. On the other hand, however; I've heard that the first game is very hard and not as good. Anyone here have an opinion? Is the first game worth playing, are the two connected storywise or is it more like Arc the Lad 2 and 3?

Ok so I saw on Gamestop that Dark Alliance is for the PS2, X-Box, etc. and is very cheap. Is Dark Alliance one or two? Because Dark Alliance got very good reviews on the Gamestop site; I mean its average was 4.5 out of 5.

Dark Alliance is different than the PC Baldur's Gate I and II. It plays kinda like Gauntlet Legends, X-Men Legends, that kind of game, except it was an early PS2 game so it's not as sophisticated. It doesn't have a whole lot of replay value, which is why you see it available so cheaply. I have it if you want to play it, it's fairly interesting to play once or twice (though not very faithful to the D&D experience). There was another Baldur's Gate game on the PS2 as well, a sequel I believe, though I haven't played that one.

So should I aim for the PC versions?

I've never played those, but I heard good things about them.
