Session One
The group is brought to a cave after a meeting with Vandroy, Furlac's brother. He tells them they are to head to the representing Archon of the lowest layer of Heaven, Lunia, and discuss what has to be done.
In the cave, the group discovers various books both good and evil maps and spells and more. They take a book that has the maps of the first and second layers of Hell, Avernus and Dis. Also is a map of the Silver Sea of Lunia, Heaven. The group finds a crazy old wizard in the cave who grants them entrance to Heaven.
After a boat ride to the mount of Celestia, the group encounters Furlac at the Citadel of Stars instead of the representing Archon Barachial. He tells them that they have to retrieve Orcus' wand from Avernus, that Dwarves came into contact with and do not want to keep. They also must head into Dis and rescue Levistus and bring him back to Celestia to talk with Furlac.
The group is then teleported to the outskirts of Hell where they encounter Tony and Billy who are waiting for them as help. In this layer of Hell fireballs fall from the sky and pumble the surface which is charred and burnt. The group must wear specially crafted rings to protect them from the intense heat of Hell AND it protects the members from being scryed on or spied on by devils, demons, and the lords of Hell; which I think I forgot to mention at the game.
At the border of Hell is the Dwarven outpost mountain that the group must head to. Upon getting close to the mountain the Dwarves rush the group inside safely. The Dwarves are allowed in Hell to mine rocks and minerals they are using to sell back on the material plane. In reality, they are spies for Celestia and are helping to build war weapons/machines for them and other good aligned planes that are preparing for the final days battles.
The dwarves gladly surrender the Wand to the group, but before they can, the blood war spills out close to the dwarves mountain and the dwarves are forced to leave the group to build a defense should it be needed. The demons and devils fighting are not concerned with the dwarves at all, but still the group is told to stay inside the mountain.
They decide to look for the wand and find it from directions given to them from the dwarves king, Gilak. Upon getting close to the wand it disappears and the group is confronted with the First Lord of Hell, Bel himself along with two other Pit Fiends. Due to the numbers game, the group is able to beat them, though Bel gets off a Meteor Swarm before going down. He drops his Huge Greatsword and the Wand of Orcus for the group to take.
Next the group has to figure out how to get into Dis to save Levistus and get back to Furlac with him still alive.
If I forgot anything be it big or small in detail feel free to add it. If you could let me know how you think everything went that would be great.
One last note though. In order to reach epic level the group can get there by two conditions. One is simply getting the XP necessary to get there and another is to beat a very impressive foe or obstacle. I think beating Bel was a very impressive feat, despite the fact you caught him off guard and used numbers to easily beat him, you still killed him, and caused an inevitable upheaval in the ranks of Hell, which is worthy of level 21 for a "good" aligned party in my opinion.
I will post some info on being level 21 tomorrow or tuesday such as when attack bonuses go up, saves, etc. since things are a little different. I'll also try to get an electronic copy for everyone to look at for leveling up and what not.
We'll aim for the next session to be on the 19th, and start at noon and go till 6 or 7 depending on how things go.
