What is your favorite era to play star wars in? Be it old republic, rise of the empire, rebellion, or new jedi order.
Personally I like playing in the old republic the best. But then again i'm a KOTOR freak...

I'm a Rebellion Era fanatic all the way.
I dunno much about the KOTOR games, so Old Republic's out by default for me.
With Rise of the Empire, it's hard to escape the taint of Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clowns (one of my least favorite movies ever), and I feel like the Jedi are a little too prevalent at this time.
And I refuse to even consider the New Jedi Order because the only book I read from that timeline was so awful.

I'd have to say the new Jedi Order mainly because I know almost nothing about it, and therefor would be more of a surprise to me for storyline purposes. I hate it when I know the background story as a player. (Meaning the setting's storyline not the DMs own personnel storyline).

The trick to not knowing the storyline is the Rebellion era stretches upto the new jedi order. For me I like the movies and good books time period.

I'm also a fan of way back in the day during the time of the Sith war and I mean the real sith. Before everyone was Darth something and during the time there were many Sith warriors.

and during the time there were many Sith warriors. How did these warriors fight? I mean did they use anything besides light sabers and the lightning attack?

Oh god yes. The Sith broadsword was an enchanted sword that withstood the damage of a lightsaber. The Ancient Sith used magic as well or what could be called magic. And one mf my favorite Jedi lived during this time. Nomi Sunrider was really cool and she even was able to sever someones connection with the Force.

Oh and Exar Kun was the first ot use the double bladed lightsaber but unlike Darth Maul his handle was the size of a normal lightsaber handle.

Sounds very interesting, that's stuff I'd like to see in a Star Wars D&D game.

Technically, the Rebellion Era stretches all the way until about 20 years after Return of the Jedi. Bit of a misnomer there, I think, but the New Jedi Order era begins 21 years after the Battle of Endor and the death of the Emperor.
