And one thing I've noticed that I find kind of odd is that the year is supposed to be 1000 A.D. but they have stoves, fridges and radios all in the houses.

Although there are a lot of parallels to Earth's history in that game (such as the reptilian people being killed off by a meteor in 65,000,000 BC, the Ice Age around 12,000 BC, and for that matter the use of the terms BC and AD at all), I don't think the world is intended to be Earth. Final Fantasy games usually have a similar blend of technology, magic, and medieval settings. Ever heard of Steampunk? That's more or less what's going on here I think.

I see what you mean but I wouldn't say its quite that. Actually it reminds me of my personal idea of a fantasy world where everything is of the atmosphere of the middle ages but all the modern things like fridges, tvs, stoves and toliets are still around.

What I actually find weird about the world is that the soldiers at Guardia Castle don't use guns.

Whats even funnier about the guards is they think they can stop people without using any weapons while there arms are behind their backs at that.
