So at the moment this is based solely on the demo, but here is what I've noticed that I like and dislike.
First what I liked:
The increased number of weapons is really cool and how the available weapons changes from one play through to the next.
Magnum handgun!!!! Need I say more. ;D
The new boss zombies and new regular zombies add more complexity and keep you on your toes. Also it seems that zombies come from more places and directions.
I actually like the characters you play as, though I know many people don't like Nick because of his heavy southern accent.
Now for the not so great stuff:
The two levels in the demo at least, offer a very different atmosphere and completely change the feel of the game. Definitely not as dark as what most were expecting. I personally like this change, but I know most do not.
I thought the new AI Director 2.0 was supposed to change the map layout and atmosphere and weather. All I noticed was a minor path change at one point in the demo. Maybe the demo isn't making use of the director as the full game because it's a demo?
Is it really worth $50? I mean this is arguably just a glorified mod to the first game. I guess each person will have to decide if L4D2 is worth the price tag.
That's all I got for now. When the game itself comes out in about 5 days I'll add to this.
I have yet to play the L4D2 demo, although I have downloaded it. Personally I have high hopes for the game but I am disappointed that they are releasing it so soon.
I mean, it's only been one year since the first one came out. That means they were working on this one starting pretty much as soon as they released Left 4 Dead. I know that they've promised to keep supporting both games, but I still feel that it's just too soon. How do I know they're not already working on Left 4 Dead 3?
