I like large controllers because I have large hands...I don't like the feel of the official cube controller, but I love most 3rd party ones...they had the BEST AIRFLO EVER...and as well, they had the best placement of the sticks (insert ps2 bias), buttons, and triggers...not tappable buttons (insert more ps2 bias), PRESSURE SENSITIVE TRIGGERS...the only flaw is the huge A button...the rubber prong underneath tends to wear out and fall apart after a while from repeated tapping ala hundereds of hours of wrestling games and such
The first Xbox controller, on the other hand was too big and bulky for no other reasons than cosmetics and pimping itself...the slanted buttons looked cool and dynamic at first, but truth be told by a hardcore gamer, played like crap....the start and select buttons were too far apart from eachother and the rest, and the black and white buttons on top also suffered from bad placement...however, they corrected all these flaws by making the "controller s" which should have been the one from the start...live and learn, I suppose... it was more compact, better designed, and plays like a dream..
The ps2 controller is lightweight, but too small for my liking...the buttons feel cheap, much like the newer system itself...it took me forerver to get used to the symbols vs the letters...I would also prefer a real d-pad as opposed to four more buttons...in short, they may have some nice games, but I feel most of their lengthy library is bloated and full of subpar games...also, sony is nothing but a bunch of money grubbing bastards...lowered the price of the old ps2 which was already overpriced, to compete with nintendo, then came out with the compact ps2 which was more sensible but had less physical features and had the nerve to still charge the same price for less product...on top of that, they have even more nerve to STILL expect you to buy a multitap to play multiplayer games...not just any one will do, oh no!...they make it impossible for others to work so you have to buy the NEW one...again, money grubbing bastards... *grumble*
Thank goodness I have a nice large wooden arcade stick style console with attachments for all three systems so I NEVER have to buy costly and inferior little arcade sticks for each.. *slams fist*
The only beef I have with that is there aren't dual or triple sticks on it, to compensate for the right stick and d-pad, so I can play ALL my games with it
