Man I had to do a little digging for this but I finally found a picture of him, and his exact quote. luct.tacticsogre.com/classes/smaster.gifHanzo: I see, so you are Denim, the Hero of Griate! You are a pretty handsome fellow, aren't you? Let the Purple Holy Knights challenge you.

For Ogre Battle fans you might be interested to know that Lans,Warren and Canopus are all in the Tactics Ogre story on a mission to recover a special sword known as the Brunhid and help the country of Valeria from the dark knights of Lodis. This is where I found the Hanzo quote and where you could read the entire script for Tactics Ogre without playing the game. (I hear its very rare now.) luct.tacticsogre.com/one.html

Oh yeah incase theres any confusion there are actually two Lans in this story. One is the original from Ogrebattle and is the holy knight and good guy and the other is Lans the death templar who works for Lodis.

This wasn't a terrible game by any means but it did have a few things that really bothered me. One of them was the fate of Lans. I don't know what Lans was like in Ogre Battle but in Tactics Ogre he was my favorite character in the story. He was one of those good paladins that you would really like and fought for good causes. He also talked about how he felt bad about his wife who died. Anyway eventually gets captured by the enemy and you never see him for a long time until towards the end where you see him being taken care by some girl. hes been beaten so badly doesn't even look the same, hes paralyzed, cant move cant talk and just stares out of the window like a zombie, and then denim finds the music box that he kept when his wife died and played it and Lans colapased out of his chair trying to move. I really didnt like seeing Lans like that as he was one of my favorite characters in the game and he was with you since the very begining.

I forgot to mention, It would appear Warren dies too. He dies at the end trying to seal the gate and keep it from colapsing. Only Canopus lives and goes to Zenobia.

Lans was an ok character in the first. He's the first story line character you get and I felt he was one of the less interesting ones. The problem with the one ending where Lans turns and defeats you for being a evil ruler is the fat I doubt he coud defeat me. The same problem exists with that god awful piece of crap Chrono Cross a nobody isn't going to be able to defeat Crono. But on the up side that is only one of many possible endings.

As you can see Ive changed my orginal joke post of Hanzo the questionable knight into an Ogre battle talking post. Where we can talk about the Ogre Battle series as a whole. So Ive looked around abit to see just how many games existed in the series. Heres how it works.
1.Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen 1993 for snes. Later released on psx.
2.Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together 1995 for snes. Later released on psx.
3.Ogre Battle Legend of the Zenobia Prince 2000 for Neo Geo Pocket Color. Only OB not in english. Takes place at the same time as Ogre Battle. It is a side story to the original.
4.Ogre Battle 64 Person of Lordly Caliber 2000 for N64
5.Tactics Ogre The Knight of Lodis 2001 for GBA.

Thanks to Reno, I was loaned Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen for the snes/psx. First started playing it today. This new battle system takes a little getting used to. But I like it much better then Tactics Ogre and certainly seems to have a lighter tone then that game did. What I enjoy best is the atmosphere. I remember hearing about the Fireseal name cheat so I used it, I liked being able to command all those angels, seraphims, ninjas and paladins. By using that NBC logic, if you never seen it, its new to you, then this game solves my problem Ive posted about, in missing old rpgs that had a cool mideval fantasy feel to them. Now this is more what Im looking for.

The fireseal code is fun every once in a while. Not a whole lot of funt o command such units for a single level. I have gotten the lich outside of the fireseal level.

Yes, if you play through the game, you will eventually get a much more impressive army than the one given you by the Fireseal code.
The battle system is a little strange compared to other RPGs. After all, you don't really control the battle directly at all (though you can, if you know how to carefully manipulate the tactics commands well enough). But it's very nice because you can just sit back and watch the battle unfold without having to press the button six million times.

The problem with Ogre Battle is the evil path is so much easier to take. i also figured out what screwed me in my one file. In one level a guy gave me some evil statue and told me not to sell it and deliver it for him. I naturally sold it and since then I've been pulling death cards left and right. On my other fime my reputation was so high the guy didn't even ask me to deliver the statue. What sucks is on my evil file I have 2 undead staffs and a princess. I want to play the good file though.
