It probably will, but it will cost you the chance to recruit a lot of storyline characters as well.
To get liches, you need to:
1. Upgrade a Wizard to a Mage. This requires them to be a certain level, and to have an alignment between 10 and 60. In other words, tending toward evil but not all the way there.
2. Use an Undead Staff (shows up on your item list as "Staff") on the Mage, turning him into a Sorcerer.
3. Use an Undead Ring (shows up on your item list as "Undead") on the Sorcerer, turning him into a Lich.
You can pick up both of these items randomly, but the Staff is pretty hard to find, and you'll find less of them if you're taking the good path.

I found 1 staff on my good file. What's really funny is on one file I had a princess and 2 units of angels and still managed to get myself a lich.

That is funny. I really dont believe an angel would tolerate the presance of a Lich in reality.

That's the beauty of Ogre Battle though.

Would an evil path help me get liches? Not really. It's not hard to get Wizards regardless of which path you go on...and it's not hard at all to manipulate your ALI to get Mages. (Just use that unit for most of your fighting :-P) From there, it takes extreme LUCK to get the Sorceror/Lich...If you were playing a ROM, I would suggest occasionally Save Stating before stepping on a tile where a Buried Treasure is located, but as you are playing an actual version of the game...it would be far too tedious :-P (The Buried Treasure you find is based on the Time of Day, but there is no set knowledge of what treasure comes at what time...mere seconds change the treasure) If you ever get stuck on the game or need any form of assistance, or are looking for hidden towns, this is the best site for help on Ogre Battle: www.houseofwacks.org/ogre/

The only way I can see an evil path helping is it may increase your chances of randomly picking up the staffs and rings from defeated units. However I'd prefer a crown. On my old PSX file where I had the 3 dragoons I alos had 3 rincesses.

Ah yes. Princesses are one of the most powerful non-unique units in the game... indirectly anyway.

They're rather powerful directly, as well. Princess, 2 Liches back row. Any 2 3-attack units front row.
You have a unit that can kill anything, including Undead.

What I meant by "indirectly" is the fact that it gives all your other units an extra attack. The Princess's own attack is fair, but certainly not the best thing out there.
