This thread was made to be a social board for the classic snes game, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Definitly one of the best FF games made and I find it to be far more enjoyable than the more modern Final Fantasy games.

Yeah its pretty good. After making boards for FF4,5 and 6. I thought we should give Mystic Quest, the other snes FF, its proper due. It deserves a place here too.

That it does since so many choose to talk about how its such a poor game. And just because I can without getting into trouble here I want to say that Mystic Quest is better than Xenogears.

Amen to that testament. MYSTIC QUEST THE SLAYER OF XENOGEARS Choice of weapon? FUN FACTOR!

If it wasn't for the fact the gamefaqs people were such jerks I'd post a link to this thread on the xenogears board so they can see people on another boad talking about how bad their game is and no one is standing up to defend xenogears.

Mystic Quest is really one of the best games Ive ever played too. I place it above quite a bit. No its not a complex epic nor takes me 50 hours, its just a great weekend game that takes 10 hours and is a great escape from reality. kick ass music too.

It would be great if they rereleased this on the GBA too.

Doubt it would get put on the GBA because if how poorly people look at it. Squenix makes its money these days rereleasing games and churning out crap.

I know and thats a real shame cause this was a great game. A game worthy of sequel. you know sometimes great things start out small, had they made a 2 and then a 3 they could of expanded on this plot and make it something special. I still wonder what did Benjamin do while on the ship.

Well perhaps we should make a story or game for a Mystic Quest two. It will include Benjamin and Tristan and eventually all the other characters that fought in battle. In the spirit of the original it will be a short and simple quest that would take no longer then 10-12 hours. But will be a little more complex and interesting. It will be about Benjamin exploring a new land and solving the new problems he encounters there. Another potential roleplaying game too. And with this we would have alot of freedom.

Since we can't profit on it anyway. Lets use this thread to post our ideas here for a sequel to MQ2. Add anything as it comes to mind. One thing for sure I want to do, is eventually have it where all the characters meet up with Benjamin and Tristam. Being Phoebe,Kaeli and Reuebn. Since there were 5 battle characters all together maybe we can make it a 5 character battle system. The highest in the FF Series. I do want to at least change it where its more then 2. At least 4 if anything. besides we may add several new characters for this story. Also I want the battles to still face the same way as the traditional Mystic Quest interface where its more like Dragon Warrior.
Playable characters at the start Benjamin Tristam (and eventually) Phoebe Kaeli Reuben

mikesrpgcenter.com/mystic/maps/overworld.gifI decided to modify my post since the picture was too big, but the above link, is a picture of the Mystic Quest map for you to observe. This is the map of the known world of Mystic Quest. The South Western area is Foresta. The North Eastern area is Aquaria. The North Western area is Fireburg and the South Eastern area is Windia. When Benjamin restores the four crystals, the darkend empty areas in the South Eastern Windia become filled with water. Its best assumed when Benjamin and Tristam set sail on their ship in the end, they headed south. south of Windia. Though there seems a slim possibilty they went East as well.
