Anyone ever heard about this? I got it as a present from my Grandma many many years ago. Didnt do much for me since I didnt play D&D nor know anyone who did. But it was basically a norse themed version of D&D. What I got was a box that said Birth right Rjurik highlands it came with all kinds of maps of norse style towns and stories about the characters in this setting. I brough this up because I think some of these maps might be useful for the rune game after taking a close look at them today.

Birthright is a setting like Ravenloft or Greyhawk. Its kind of cool. the Rjurik Highlands are just a section of it. probably like a gazetter of some sorts

Thanks for the info Rude, Ive seen it is a part of a bigger world. The Norse gods themselves and the mythology Don't seem to ever be mentioned but I see no reason why they couldn't be thrown in to enhance the feel. It really is a norse setting. Its more of a box filled with a small book and many maps but I can bring it around. There is some good short stories about the people in the land within the book.

So it's a box set rather than a single book. That seems to have been a popular method of packaging back in 2nd edition. They don't do it anymore though, it seems.
But yeah, Birthright is a setting I've heard of, but know absolutely nothing about. I don't think it was one of their more popular D&D worlds, compared to Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance or Greyhawk for example.

Sounds like an interesting place to play in. This just adds to the list of reasons I almost wish I knew the 2nd edition rules.
