*Creel slowly shakes his head, starts to take a drink from his still-untouched drink, but instead puts it down again, shaking his head again.*
"Now there's a cheery fellow."

"hey now, i never meant that fight to be to the death, it was just to teach you a lesson for insulting me for no reason, bad manners you have there. your the one who decided to fight dirty, AND try to kill me, you went into the fight knowing i couldn't hurt you, and that you could kill me with that vile sword of yours, and then when you found out that i COULD kill you, you freaked out, and tried to kill me, it was all self defense on my side. further more, when i thought i knocked you out, i started to walk away, then your turned into that monster and attacked me AGAIN, so your the aggressor here."
*all the while tristrams nodding his head mock-knowingly*

*Biting back his first reply, Creel pauses for a moment before answering.*
"Perhaps there were lessons to be learned on both sides. My first comment to you was no insult, merely teasing. I stand by what I've said about 'dirty' fighting being an illusion, and that," *Creel points at Tristram's rapier* "Is not a toy. So challenging every stranger you meet who speaks words you don't like to hear is not a good idea. Every once in awhile, you meet somebody that is more than meets the eye."

*while listening to the conversation from far away, Rakss makes his way to his corner again and sits. Crosses his legs and puts the thips of his fingers together as he breaths deeply with his eyes closed*

*Creel orders another round for all at the table, and drops a few coins onto the table as payment.*
"Excuse me for a moment, if you please. The next round's on me."
*With a nod to Tristram, Creel heads across the room to the table where Rakss is sitting. Without waiting for an invitation or even an acknowledgement, he slides into a seat across the table.*
"Why don't you tell me what's going on with you? Despite what people around here seem to think, I don't particularly enjoy killing another man, and certainly not one with whom I've no quarrel."

*opens his eyes to look plainly at Creel and speaks seriously*"It is true we have not personal quarrel. However I have changed my opinions when it comes to living. Namely that I hardly care to anymore."
*sighs and stops any semblance of meditation*
"Well from the reaction I recieved the last time I told my tale there is no real sympathy for me but if you want to know then so be it."
"twelve of us went to the lair of the lord of fire whose name I care not to speak anymore. We attacked him and his people before they would harm anyone else. This was after the fact that his people had killed more innocents than I can remember."
*pause a moment*
I don't remember how long we were down there anymore. Beneath the earth in the hollowed recesses. I don't even remember how long we ate the foul that lived there for sustinance. It started well with small raids, but the more we fought the minions the more we became overwhelmed and we started... falling. One by one until we were reduced to six. It was the orcs. I know what you're thinking 'how could orcs kill 6 skilled warriors?', well it's easy when you find yourself fighting so many that you cannot see the end of the group."
*thinks a moment to find his place again*
"I rallied the survivors to making a run on the tower of the nameless lord of fire and we made it... 3 of us made it there. We lost another half of our party to spellcasters of incredible power and worse: the lack of hesitation to do terrible things."
*a tear rolls down his face as he stares off in the distance*
"My beloved died in front of my eyes for his sadistic pleasure. Then there was only me and... him. I fought him for a long long time. We destroyed the tower and he tried to escape by blowing a hole into the top of the caverns. I followed and finished him with my own burning hands." *looks to his charred forearms* "My fire quenched his forever. ...and then I fled and over the course of some time. Over that period I realized I was alone and had no one in my life any longer. All those I cared about died right in front of me despite my best efforts. Eventually I made it to this place."
*he clenches a charred fist*
"I see no point in going on alone when those I care about are in the afterlife ahead of me." *smiles* "Like I said before I believe you are fates messanger of death. Well that's what is going on with me if you care to know."

*Creel leans back, mulling over this information for a few moments. After a minute or so, his brow unfurrows and he leans forward once more.*
"You've had your revenge, it seems. So I cannot offer you that as a reason to live. Did you not seek out priests to restore your friends to life? I have heard that they require the bodies of the fallen for the rite to be performed, but I am hardly an expert in such matters. And there are many faiths in these lands; perhaps not all of them work the same way. What I do know, however, is this: if your friends were the good people you obviously believe they were, and they saw you acting this way over them, they would do to you much worse than you expect from me. I would go so far as to say that they would probably consider this a betrayal of sorts, that you would invoke their names to seek your own death. In their place, that's exactly how I would feel."
*Creel stands up and begins to walk away, but stops for a moment and looks back over his shoulder at Rakss.*
"At least, if I ever met the man that could send me to the afterlife."

*while Creel still has his attention drawn his way, Rakss retorts* "They are all dead. The blast that got my foe out of his lair started a cave in to the whole region. We fought on the rubble..."
*his look becomes a little more angry and he sneers a bit* "Perhaps you're right about what they would think of this. I change the rules of the pruposed contest then to the first one to yield being the loser. 'Yield' being giving up or passing out. Maybe I don't have to die but I still have the urge to show you i'm capable of sending you to that next life. Agreed?"

*Creel slowly shakes his head, and lets out a heavy sigh before replying.*
"I don't know why everybody thinks I want to fight, and I'm inclined to turn down your challenge. But a man who has nothing to live for is dangerous, not just to himself but to others as well. Perhaps if I beat you I can show you that things aren't as bleak as they look. Think carefully before you decide to do this. If you're determined to fight me, and if you rest up properly first, I'll be over there."
*Creel points back toward his own table, and then continues to walk away.*

*tristram has been listening to the conversation, when he's had enough he pipes up from creels table*
"creels right stranger, what would your love think if you just gave up because of her? i don't know about you or her, but if i died and the person i loved gets themselves killed on purpose, I'd be ashamed. you need to keep living, to honor they're memory if for nothing else."
*tristram pauses for a second in thought*
"i was once told something by someone dear to me, i think you may gain something from hearing it: 'all there is, is the before, the now, and the later, the before has already happened and theres no changing it, and no matter the pains we suffered in the before. we must Live in the now and prepare for the later. or risk reliving the before.' Well, i don't know if this means anything to you or not, but they are words very close to my heart.

*Gets up quickly pushing the bench to the table back as he does. Breaths deeply a couple of times and speaks while noticeably holding back anger to Tristram and Creel*
"Alright I get it i'm being selfish!" *calms some* "I should be trying to honor them instead of dissapoint them. Beating Creels head into the stone walkways outside won't make my problems go away. So then I am now a man looking for something to do. Does anyone have something to do?"

"There are countless orc patrols in this region of the land. Also plenty of groups venturing into the moors to hunt trolls. A man of your particular talents ought to be useful against trolls, if you can avoid burning yourself up so badly again. Or are you looking for something more adventurous than that?"

*speaking to Creel*
"Trolls would be a fun diversion actually. As far as charring myself more: the last time was the first time I ever did it for that long. I expect that I can slay trolls for quite some time before I 'feel the burn'." *smiles some* "If you'll forgive the pun, that is."

*Creel chuckles at the pun for a moment, before his face grows suddenly serious.*
"Of course, there are some who say there's much more in the Evermoors than trolls. It's whispered that something... else... has taken up residence there, and is responsible for the increased troll attacks lately. Still interested?"

*becomes serious as well*
"Of course i'm interested. Not only is this clearly the only thing I have going on in my life right now, I consider it my duty to redeem myself and do what is right by stopping whatever has started out there. Now when did you want to get on the move?"
