paizo.com/gameMastery/accessories/v5748btpy7wv9"Tired of the same old double damage? Wouldn't you rather chop your opponent's head off in one clean swing or put an arrow through his heart? Paizo Publishing presents the GameMastery Critical Hit Deck! Rolled a critical hit? Draw a card and apply the result! Each of the Critical Hit cards in this 52-card deck has four different results based on weapon type, all of which are compatible with the world's most popular fantasy roleplaying game. Chop off a head, slice through a tendon, poke out an eye—crushing your enemy has never been this much fun. Useable by experienced GMs and novices alike, this product fits perfectly into any Game Master's arsenal." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seems like a cool idea to me. Double damage is a little boring, but then so's the idea that a character can function as well at 1 hp as they can at full, then fall over dying if they take one more damage, with nothing in between. I'm interested in giving this deck a try, though I really haven't got the money to pick it up at the moment.

I heard there was going to be a critical fumble deck as well. It'd be nice to have a few more options than "you drop your weapon" or "you hit your friend."

Well, I picked up the Critical Hit deck tonight. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try it out fairly soon and see if it's as interesting as it looks.

I read through all the cards, and there are some very cool effects. Now I'm just waiting for a chance to see it in action.

So after seeing this deck in action last night I have to say it's very cool and well worth the money. Some of those abilities are particularly good, or evil depending on how you look at it. Additionally, if they get used on the PCs, oh dear lord can that affect the battle hugely.

Yeah. There's a reason that the deck instructions suggest only allowing important NPCs or monsters to use the deck when they crit.
Still, I'm glad to see the deck finally get used, and I am not disappointed.
