i think yesterdays game went very well, my section of the story finally went somewhere, and did we go, plus i was highly entertained watching the other group, so i had a blast and i cant wait for the next game, where hopefully we get to see what our human friend has been up to, and the (hopeful) victory of our wookie friend in the arena, and probibly some more lighting raids on the jedi front, because we're trying to liberate a planet, or at least start up a revolt! (god i love saying that, it feels nice actually doing something important in one of these games, instead of just of sitting there going with whatever the rest of the group says)

The game went ok but I swear this is the last tie I risk life and limb to make someone else rich. The sad truth of the matter is it takes money to make money.

Ok I got one small problem. Not sure how exactly to word it. It just feels like something is missing from the game. Somehow something just dosen't feel right. Part of the problem is it still feels a little too D&D like. Not because its the d20 system the rolls still feel a little too flat and boring. For one thing I think Computer Use has so many uses its hard to feel liek a slicer when anyone with enough ranks in it can hack a system. Then there's the whole stealing the ship we took. sure I suceeded and with the help of droids but in reality I should have struggled more. A Quarren ship is alien to me not only in language but in design. I thin kthere should be more randomness to our sucesses. Even with a check of 30 to start an alien ship when I've never encountered its design or language I should stand a good chance of activating weapons and blowing a hole in a wall or maybe accidentily launching an escape pod before takeoff. Sure that can be reserved for failure but t would be more entertaining than me stealing a ship on my first try because I got a lucky roll. It also beats a simple in tome you suceed as a result.

You're right that I should be playing up the different languages more. I'll see what I can do about that in the future.
Computer Use does seem to be an awfully wide-ranging skill that encompasses a ton of abilities. That's kind of a flaw in the Star Wars mechanics, but the only thing I can really do to try and make a slicer more special is encourage non-slicer people to put their ranks elsewhere.
I'll see what I can do to address these issues, and suggestions are most definitely welcome.

well, i have about 4 ranks in computer use and its going to stay that way, because the only reason my character would have ranks in it is because you can get back sheild points on a high enough check.

Hey, I had a thought, and this seems to be a good place to pitch the idea.
Would you guys be interested in my starting a thread talking about the various NPCs you meet? I wouldn't include stats, except in case of characters that die. I would include what you know about that NPC, how they feel about your characters, and perhaps some background info that you wouldn't know in-character but might be interesting just for the hell of it. And then you guys can talk about them, speculate on what they'll do in the future or whether you can trust them or how useful they can or can't be to you.
So would you guys want to see this? Don't just say yes; I only want to do this if people are actually going to read them and care about it.

Actually I would want to see this done. This can be helpful in remembering things about the NPCs.

It did occur to me that this would give the NPCs more individuality. And perhaps make the players appreciate that individuality better than they do. As the GM, I know the histories of these characters, what motivates them, what they think about your characters, etc. And I think it lends the characters more depth. Unfortunately, the opportunities do not always arise to convey this information during the game, and I would rather leave it out than clog up the game with a series of little vignettes in which I rattle off a bunch of information about a character, most of which will be quickly forgotten anyway. So I thought this might be a good compromise, a place where I can tell you more about these NPCs with whom you interact in the game.

Indeed having a place to read it would help have it ingrained in my brain better and thus make it more enjoyable when we actually play.

Sounds good to me. Besides its a way to ee NPC's I have not met or will not meet in the future depending on if we split up again for any reasons.

I got it that Wookiee is in a book I have. I forget what all he does but at least I now know the name for sure.
