Got a trailer for you here. Unfortunately it's in Quick Time and won't load on my computer for some reason. But hopefully it will work for you.

Looks like its going to be a great movie. I caught a preview of it when I went to see a movie earlier today.

Well now that it has been out has anyone seen it? What do we all think? I enjoyed it, personally. Thing is that the first 40 minutes or so could very much have been cut out in my own opinion.

Or shortened, anyway.
I loved the movie. Was a bit surprised to see Captain Jack take a somewhat darker, more sinister turn in this movie. The Jack Sparrow I saw in Curse of the Black Pearl didn't seem like the type to leave Will Turner behind on the Flying Dutchman like that. Didn't seem quite so selfish. I mean yeah, he did strike that deal with Barbossa to give him the Black Pearl in exchange for Will and the Dauntless, but I got the impression he was just buying time, looking for a chance to even the odds (by stealing a coin and joining the curse) and get Barbossa alone.
However, I really liked what they did with Norrington in the second movie. At the end of the first movie, he had lost Elizabeth. But I at least kinda felt sorry for him. Although he was kind of a prick, Norrington was not an evil man. He was a just, successful, good guy, and ended up losing the woman he loved to a pirate. And then in this movie he's become a broken-down man with absolutely nothing going for him. The now-desperate Norrington makes a Ravenloft-style fall into evil. I'm really interested to see where they go with that in the third movie. I'm hoping he does the right thing at the last chance, rather than being stereotyped into a villain role and getting killed or something.

Now that it's out on DVD, there are two versions. There's the standard release with barely any special features, and there's a deluxe version that has a second disc crammed full of special features. At the place I bought the movie, the deluxe version was a whopping $10 extra, so I ended up getting the regular version and renting the special features on netflix. But most other stores have it for only a few dollars extra, so if you haven't bought the movie yet you might consider getting the deluxe one.
