So I went to the Blind Guardian concert yesterday and I must say it was the second best concert I've ever been to. The only better concert I was at was the Therion concert. So now for a quick reveiw.
Leaves Eyes played first and the big reason I wanted to go. That was by far one of the best live preformances I've seen. I knew roughly half of what they played and the other half was just as good. Honestly I enjoyed them a bit more because the standing area wasn't as packed and there were no mosh pits going.
Blind Guardian was even better than last time and had all kinds of cool images and such diplayed behind them. The only thing that sucked is the standing area was so full there was no room to move. It was one of the worst mosh pits I ever seen no matter where I managed to move there it was. I'm just thankful there were none of those idiots flailing about punching and kicking.
Anyway onto the actual preformance. It was rather suprising they played Valhalla which is fairly old. Nothing was played from A Night At the Opera or at least nothing I remebered. They played a lot off of the new cd which is weird because when A Night at the Opera was new they played like 2 songs from it. The singer with his great sense of humor made the show great. No joke about the drummer during The Bard's Song but there was great humor when it came to playing the song Legacy. Everyone wa chanting Legacy anf his response is why do you want to hear it? They ended up closing with The Bard's Song and Mirror Mirror and this time I knew the lyrics to The Bards Song. So overall it was quite an entertaining night.
