Matt Barlow, who sang with Iced Earth for the albums Burnt Offerings, Days of Purgatory, Dark Saga, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Horror Show, and Tribute to the Gods before quitting the band in 2003, has finally made the decision to come back to metal! He's joined a Danish band by the name of Pyramaze, whom I've never heard of before. Apparently last November they parted ways with their singer, and the guitarist figured that, although it was a long shot, he'd give Matt a call and see if he was interested. Since the band doesn't plan to tour much, Matt decided to accept. One of the reasons Matt left Iced Earth was because he was burned out on touring all the time, and another was because he didn't have a stable income. Since Pyramaze won't be touring that often, it will allow him to keep his regular job. For those that don't know, Matt Barlow is my favorite singer of all time, surpassing even Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden. So this is friggin AWESOME news to me. Unfortunately, they won't have an album out for at least a year, so it'll be a very long wait.
