Many of you may know that I've been working on my own DnD setting that takes place in the modern world and/or in the time period of the end of Earth's existence around 3000 in my story. Alternately Heaven and Hell are accessible. Soon I'll start posting what I've done so far on it. One day I hope to run a game using this setting. It's fully compatible with 3.0 and 3.5 rules.

Now I still haven't written the story for the future era and I'm sure I've made soem changes I haven't written down yet but here is what I have so far. Unfortunately, a lot of the tables I can't get to look right so if you want a better looking copy of the whole thing let me know and I'll e-mail you what I have as a word document.
Bloodlines
What is this? Bloodlines is a modern fantasy D20 RPG setting on Earth that is to be used in conjunction with existing Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) material. What I am doing here is creating a story so a Dungeon Master (DM) can create a campaign of their own. This story spans from the year 2010 to the end of earth around 3012. A DM can place their campaign anywhere in this timeline; the catch is that different events are happening during different years, and that is what I will outline in these pages. I will outline the events that happen, new classes, new prestige classes, new feats, new monsters, etc. By doing this, a DM has a new world to create their campaign. As I said the story described will help the DM create their own campaign, much like the Star Wars RPG does. Star Wars RPG uses the basic story of Star Wars given from the movies, and using that knowledge, a DM can create their own campaign from the Star Wars story and the new information provided.
Stuff to get out of the way: I want to clear a few things up ahead of time before I get started into the story of Bloodlines. This story contains religious beliefs and customs including Christianity and Norse mythology. The purpose of the setting is to give DMs another fun way to play DnD. I mean no offense to anyone who reads this story. I created this story using beliefs I either have, know of, or made up for the fun of it, and in no way deem this setting as factual.
THE SETTING ITSLEF Family Name: The surname of the family that this story concentrates on is Blood. This name is of German origin and may be recognized as Blood, Bloode, Blud, Bludd and others. This name was first found in Cardiganshire, Wales, where they held a family seat from ancient times.
Main Characters: Droth Blood: Oldest known member of the Blood family and father to Furlac. Furlac eventually kills Droth at Golgatha. Furlac Blood: Oldest son of Droth. Furlac grows up with Droth until his father’s evil drives him away. He eventually kills Droth and ascends to great power in Heaven. Jerazul Blood: Twin Brother to Furlac. Droth takes control of Jerazul’s mind and uses Jerazul to kill Furlac. Furlac, however, manages to free Jerazul of Droth’s control and the two stayed close until Furlac’s death at Golgatha. Harabael Blood: Son on Furlac Blood who kills Mammon and eventually drives Satan into the Abyss and out of hell with Iamel, his cousin. Iamel Blood: Adopted son of Jerazul who fights with Harabael to banish Satan to the Abyss. Satan: The Lord of Hell that Harabael banishes to the Abyss.
Supporting Characters: Slatrune Blood: Furlac’s oldest son who is a certified genius. Petya Blood: Furlac’s daughter who falls in love with Adan, a vampire elder. Danielle: Furlac’s first love who was killed by Furlac’s bodyguard at Droth’s order when Furlac was eighteen. Levistus: A lord of Hell that is imprisoned far below the surface in Ice by Asmodeus. Furlac frees Levistus who helps Furlac in the “Battle of Blood.” Apollyon: Guardian of the Abyss. There are many other people that take part in this story, but these are the main characters. Beryx: A vampire that joins Harabael and Iamel in their quests. He is an extreme comedian, joking at any given time. His most notable insults are of the homosexual type and often directed at those he knows to be homosexuals. Alyssa Blood: Furlac’s wife who finds the cure for cancer and is killed and raped by one of Droth’s murder parties. Aife: A female sorcerer that joins Harabael and Iamel in their quests. Vlad Tepes: The historical Count Dracula that helps Furlac at the “Battle of Blood” against Droth and his minions. Michael: the archangel Michael that fought Satan in Heaven’s First War. He helps Furlac at the “Battle of Blood.” Metatron: Considered by many to be the Voice of God and arguably the most powerful being in Heaven other than God himself. He will replace Satan once Harabael banishes Satan to The Abyss. Odin: An extremely powerful Norseman that assists Furlac in his struggle against Droth. Thor: A very powerful Norseman that tests Furlac’s powers short of the “Battle of Blood.” Loki: A very powerful Norseman that appears to cheer up Furlac upon seeing Alyssa dead. Rheinheart: Furlac’s younger arch nemesis that has what many consider an unhealthy obsession with spiders; he server Jerazul when Jerazul was under Droth’s control. Cain: The mythological eldest son of Adam and Eve that is corrupted by Satan and given dark powers in return for his brother’s death. He is the oldest known vampire that Droth kills fearing Cain will side with Furlac. Ironically, Cain’s blood gives Furlac his super-human powers. Asmodeus: A very powerful arch devil of Hell that is some how closely related to Droth. Jerazul banishes Asmodeus. Mammon: The son of Satan that Harabael kills to gain his superhuman powers. God: The Christian god always referred to as God in this setting.
Story of the Setting Intro: Before the creation of Earth and the solar system there was God and his angels. Among all the angels ever made three are noted in the Bible and various other documents. The first being Lucifer, the second being Michael, and the third being Gabriel. However, two more angels were made shortly after these three. God put in these angels great combat skills. They were responsible, in part; for defending the gates of Heaven should the need ever arise. Their names were Droth, and Furlac. When Michael banished Lucifer to Hell, creating satan Lucifer, and Satan in time, several other angels followed him. Droth and Furlac were the greatest of these angles and became Satan’s leading generals. However, as Satan, Droth loathed to control Earth, and in time Heaven itself. Furlac caught wind of this and greatly opposed the idea of Droth trying to overthrow Satan and invade earth; he believed they did not belong anywhere near or on the material plane. The two fought an epic battle that shook Hell to its very foundation. Unable to deal with the problem, Satan banished both fallen angels to earth as humans. As the two warriors entered earth, they took on a English-European complexion. Droth was put on Earth as a forty-year-old man and Furlac a baby that Droth took in as his son in hopes of corrupting him. It was unfortunate for Furlac that he was a baby and Droth was a man who retained all past knowledge and a super-human body with ninety percent of his powers he had as a fallen angel. It is in 2010 that the story begins to pick up again, when Furlac is an eighteen-year-old boy.
Modern Era: In this time, Furlac is 18 and a prominent member in Droth’s “gang” of mercenaries, low lives, and thieves. This gang remains nameless and underground. Droth himself is the United State’s leading general, (5 stars) and has been since the U.S. was first freed from British rule. He also heads Area 51 in Nevada. Despite Droth’s influence on Furlac to be a heartless, soulless, strategic war machine Furlac remains a somewhat typical rich eighteen year old young adult torn between who he is. One mission the gang goes on changes Furlac forever. The gang goes on a mission to the Middle East to help eliminate a supposed “terrorist” group. Furlac’s girlfriend goes with the gang as a U.S. journalist. Unfortunately, she is killed by a gang member ordered by Droth. Droth believed she was a strong weakness to Furlac that would only slow him down. In a fit of rage Furlac kills his girlfriend’s murderer. Most of the rest of the gang is killed by hostile terrorists. Only Droth and Furlac were known to live. Plotting his next move Droth takes Furlac to Saudi Arabia. In time (months) Furlac discovers that Droth ordered his girlfriend’s death.
Confused and angered, Furlac storms off away from his dad. Droth fed up with his son’s ignorance by this point, deems his own son his enemy and virtually renders Saudi Arabia lifeless with what appears to be a Nuclear Weapon. This caused mass chaos in the entire planet and people began pointing fingers everywhere with the U.S. getting the brunt of the blame. Nevertheless, before Droth grew tired of his son, he had hoped Furlac would run into a very powerful person in Saudi Arabia in hoped of enhancing Furlac’s power both mentally and physically. This person was Cain, the original vampire and brother to Abel. If Furlac somehow drank the blood of another immortal being, it would trigger his body to enter its super-human state. This plan came to fruition when Cain confronted Droth for his “nuclear weapon” bombing. Droth quickly cut Cain down to size in a minute battle that left Cain missing his lower jaw and left arm. As Cain runs off, he drips his blood everywhere including a nearby river. Furlac happens by the approximate spot Cain passed that night to drink from the water sending him into his super-human state.
Believed to be dead, Furlac now had free reign to test and perfect his powers. His first chance comes to foot when he stumbles upon a storage facility for dissembled nuclear warheads. The plant in actuality stored live nuclear weapons under the command of Furlac’s brother who is in turn under the orders of Droth. With Droth’s command, Jerazul can easily take out an entire continent with the U.S. first on the list. Furlac ends up stopping the launch and saving Alyssa, a computer analyst-working launch thinking she is working on ways to dispose of the weapons. Jerazul and Sven, Jerazul’s lieutenant, survive the destruction of the base. Sven is in every way, “Spider-Man” and has the ability to control spiders as well. It is at this point in the story that Furlac discovers Jerazul is his twin brother.
Struggling to find Jerazul, Furlac runs into Cain at a Muslim Masque. It is at this point that Droth makes an appearance for what seems no reason at all. He has a short battle with Cain again and this time leaves Cain dead in pieces; throwing the head at Furlac as a symbol of his power. Furlac and Droth then have another short battle that leaves Furlac unconscious and with Droth’s weapon, the “Shimmering Eagle.” This was originally Furlac’s weapon Droth took when the two were banished to earth. For unknown reasons Droth leaves it behind for Furlac to get.
It is at this point that a group of vampires finds Furlac and takes him to their home, which is in the domain of Vlad Tepes, Count Dracula. Quite aware that Furlac is the son of Droth Tepes reluctantly keeps Furlac alive. Furlac remains unconscious for two years and awakes in a time of upheaval. Jerazul’s forces are attacking Tepes’ domain to rid Droth of a possible threat. Tepes quickly turns to Furlac for advice and aid on Jerazul’s tactics. Furlac offers one answer; he grabs the Shimmering Eagle, which disappears upon Furlac taking it, and heads to the frontlines. As Furlac swings his arms, the Shimmering Eagle appears. With Furlac’s help, the vampires make short work of Jerazul’s forces and Furlac finally kills Sven leaving only Jerazul alive who escapes once again. Tepes agrees to aid Furlac should the time ever arise as payment.
The next leg of Furlac’s story takes him to an old monastery at which Furlac believes Jerazul has retreated. The confrontation ends when Furlac saves Alyssa who was kept hostage here, and Furlac kills Jerazul in an hour-long battle of sword clashing and fist trades. However, upon killing Jerazul, Jerazul is brought back to life by divine intervention with Droth’s control no longer on him. Jerazul agrees to help Furlac in stopping Droth for no other reason at this point than revenge.
It is not for another twenty years that Droth is seen. In that time Furlac and Jerazul have become the leading generals in the U.S. and Furlac has three kids: Iamel, Slatrune, and Petya. Jerazul adopts a son named Harabael. Furlac marries Alyssa. It is at a friendly competition Furlac and Jerazul host annually that Droth strikes. The competition is a sword fight between numerous combatants. Droth disguises himself and enters the competition. Easily getting to the finals, Droth fights Iamel. Furlac finally realizing who this mystery man is interrupts the match before Droth could kill Iamel, who will become a vital part of the Blood War. Droth leaves before Furlac can confront him laughing sinisterly. It is at this point that Iamel starts his mission to succeed his father. Droth is finally ready to wage his war on Earth; Furlac could only wait for this time to come. While Furlac and Jerazul head in one direction to gather armies together, Iamel, Harabael, and others will go in another direction, east towards Europe to stop Droth’s advancing armies there.
Furlac heads to find other troops including making a world wide speech in Washington D.C. offering $1,000,000.00 to anyone that helps in the war. The families will get the money of those that die.
Jerazul heads to Japan to help the oppressing forces there. Iamel and his party head to Europe to stop the forces.
Iamel marches through Europe stopping any of Droth’s forces possible, and stopping the slavery of women and children that Droth started. Furlac manages to get the aid of Tepes and approximately twenty million able bodied men and women willing to fight from all over the world. In Furlac’s quest to find aid, he meets Odin, who teaches him some Rune magic, Thor who hones his fighting skills, and Loki who offers joking comfort when Furlac’s wife Alyssa is killed and raped by one of Droth’s murdering parties. Furlac’s scream of pain causes an earthquake in the middle east of 6.2 on the Richter scale. All of the “Allied” forces meet in a city approximately five miles outside Jerusalem where Droth has made a standstill.
It’s at this time that the largest battle known to man will take place. The “Allied” army march on Jerusalem and Furlac summons the help of the Angels of Heaven, Vlad Tepes’ forces, and Levistus an arch devil that opposes the leaders in hell.
The battle at Jerusalem rages for four days in which Harabael and Iamel gain their super-human powers, Jerazul banishes Asmodeus back to hell, and many more events. The most notable one, however, is the six hour battle between Furlac and Droth. The battle ends when Furlac uses “Holy-Rune” to banish Droth. At that moment Furlac gives the Horn of Freedom to Harabael and Jerazul hives a duplicate horn to Iamel which signifies the “Allied” forces won. Unfortunately, “Holy-Rune” used up the power he had left and ultimately killed him. Furlac’s entire body and soul is risen up into Heaven, Jerazul becomes the leading counselor of peace for the world, and Harabael and Iamel become the U.S.A.’s top generals. It is a time of peace and celebration for about a thousand years until the time of Harabael and Iamel comes to pass.

And here is the second part.
New Races
Ability Score Modifiers: The modifications made to each of the character’s ability scores. Speed: Bonus, in feet, added to the vampire’s base speed. This bonus also applies when the vampire is shape shifted. Turn Resis: Amount of turn resistance the character receives. AC: The bonus added to the base character’s natural armor. CR: The modification made to the character’s Challenge Rating.
Angel: Angels are a typical race in Heaven. Any human who dies becomes an angel. Also God has created many angles in history to help defend Heaven or other various reasons. Angles can take on any form and are not considered to have one physical body and such can be in numerous places at one time. Many angels act as guardians for humans, others defend Heaven, yet still others simply enjoy all Heaven has to offer as a gift for a difficult life.
Angel Ability Score Modifiers Str Dex Con Int Wis Cha Speed Dmg Red Resistance 20(cold, sonic, fire, acid) 10 (fire) AC CR +6 +6 +5 +4 +4 +4 Walk 40 Fly 60 (Average) 20/+2 +4 +6 +3
Stats: +4 to Climb, Search, Spot, Listen, Bluff, Hide, and Swim. 6 + Int X 5 for skills. They get all previous feats +3 or 3 starting feats. Appearance: Angels can take on any appearance they wish and are not limited to one form.
Fallen Angel: Fallen Angels are angels cast out from God’s sight due to their pride, lust for power, or a number of various reasons. Fallen Angels are looked down upon by all good-aligned beings in Heaven and most on Earth and hailed as heroes of freedom by most evil-aligned beings. This is not a template.
Fallen Angel Ability Score Modifiers Str Dex Con Int Wis Cha Speed Dmg Red Resistance 20(cold, sonic, fire, acid) AC CR +7 +7 +5 +3 +3 +0 Walk 40 Fly 60 (Average) 20/+2 +4 +6 +3 Stats: +4 to Climb, Search, Spot, Listen, Bluff, Hide, and Intimidate. 5 + Int X 4 for skills. They get all previous feats +2 or 2 starting feats. Appearance: 1.) Bald with burnt wings and pale in skin complexion. 2.) Hideous looking resembling a “Devil” red in complexion with bat wings. 3.) Simply human-looking. This is considered the worst punishment for a Fallen Angel, as humans are seen as pitiful beings in hell.
Alternatively you may use the following table to determine a Fallen Angel’s appearance:
Corruption of the Flesh Head, Torso Left Arm and Leg, Right Arm and Leg Wings 1d20 Result 1d20 Result 1d20 Result 1-2 Ape 1 Feathers 1-9 Bat 3-4 Bird 2-6 Fur 10-11 Bird(re-roll if angel already has bird wings 5-6 Human 7-8 Insect 12-13 Insect 7-9 Demonic 9 Molten 14 Molten 10-11 Dog 10-14 Scales 15-17 Shriveled 12-14 Goat or Ram 15-16 Skeletal 18-20 Human 15 Insect 17 Tentacle 20 Skeletal 16 Lizard 18 Toad 17 Molten 19-20 Human 18 Skeletal 19-20 Toad
Notes: Angels and Fallen Angels can mentally be with and talk to more than one person at a time, but can only engage in battle in "physical form” and only during one battle at a time. Fallen arch-angels and arch-angels exist but not as playable characters as they are too powerful. They may, however, be used as NPCs. Fallen arch-angles CANchange their form. Examples of fallen arch-angels are Mephistopheles and Lucifer. Examples of arch-angels are Michael and Gabriel.
Vampires: Contrary to other DnD settings, in Bloodlines, vampires are considered a race, not a template. Vampires have evolved for thousands of years since their creator Cain first discovered their great powers. Many vampires are now able to walk in the sunlight without any discomfort while still others find the sunlight deadly. There are numerous types of vampires that exist such as ones that cannot go into the sunlight; however the only ones described here are the modern vampires that have evolved to live in both the sunlight and darkness without any penalty. Vampire’s powers grow as they age and their ages and aging powers are listed below. Also to note, though it is possible, a PC should not be allowed to be a vampire older than a Fledgling because their power will be too great or they will be too far below the other PCs in level due to the challenge rating adjustments.

New Prestige Classes
Angel of Death Angels of Death are those angels in Heaven that are specifically trained in seeking out those whose time has ended and those that have vilely turned on God, banishing them to Hell. Angel’s of Death generally sacrifice their Heavenly rank to so their job. They exist outside the politics of Heaven and follow only God’s word no one else may command them. A gathering of several Angel’s of Death in Earth often symbolizes a catastrophic event.
The requirements to become an Angel of Death are the following: Race: Must be an Angel Class: barbarians, fighters, paladins, rangers, some sorcerers, wizards, and clerics. Base Attack Bonus: +8 Base Save Bonuses: Fortitude +8 Feats: Power Attack, Weapon Focus Alignment: Any Skills: Hide (5 ranks), Intimidate (5 ranks), Knowledge Religion (5 ranks)
Angel of Death Class Level Base Attack Bonus Fortitude Save Reflex Save Will Save Special 1 +1 +2 +0 +0 Black Wings, Poison Use 2 +2 +3 +0 +0 Favored Enemy +1 3 +3 +3 +1 +1 Envenomed Weapon 4 +4 +4 +1 +1 Favored Enemy +2 5 +5 +4 +1 +1 Claim the faithful, veil of faith
Black Wings: At 1st level, an angel of death’s wings turn jet black, signifying that she is charged with harvesting mortal souls. The angel gains a +4 bonus to intimidate checks made against mortals aware of the significance of her wing color.
Poison Use: Angels of death understand the uses and dangers of poison. They never risk accidentally poisoning themselves when applying poison to a weapon.
Favored Enemy: At 2nd level, the angel of death chooses a favored enemy just like a ranger would, gaining a +2 bonus on Bluff, Listen, Sense Motive, Spot, Survival checks against the chosen creature. In addition, she gets a +2 bonus on weapon damage rolls against such creatures. The angel may select any type of creature except constructs, elementals, or outsiders. The angel’s bonus to damage still applies to creatures immune to critical hits. It stacks with any existing favored enemy bonus the angel has for that type of creature. At 4th level, the bonus increases to +4.
Envenomed Weapon: Once per day the angel can cause her weapon to act like a dagger of venom, instantly poisoning a creature she has just hit for 1d10 points of initial and secondary Constitution damage (DC 10 + class level + angel’s Charisma modifier).
Claim the Faithful: Five times a day angel’s of death have the ability to simply touch a person and instantly and painlessly kill that person, and transports their soul to Heaven or Hell, depending on the person. The individual may resist with a Will save (DC 15 + angel’s Charisma modifier).
Veil of Faith: Once the angel of death reaches 5th level that angel can choose to remain completely invisible to any mortal on Earth, especially from the individual she is seeking to kill. This invisibility can only be seen by other outer plane beings and her invisibility cannot be broken by typical means. An angel of death cannot use this ability in typical combat; only to perform her duty.
Angel of Destruction When the time comes to punish mortals, Heaven or Hell calls upon the angels of destruction, also known as malache habbalim. While the primary focus of the angels of death is to punish or claim members of the faith, angels of destruction are in the unique position of testing the faithful by aiding enemies of their faith as well as slaying members of opposing faiths. Though sages sometimes have difficulty grasping the difference between these angels and the angels of death, the difference is a matter of scale: While few angels of death exist, tens of thousands of malache habbalim serve Heaven’s legions, and the angels of death are their generals. Angels of destruction may also serve Hell, acting as the destructive and vengeful hands of Hell, though they are not evil themselves. Angels of destruction can also be found in some parts of Hell punishing evil souls.
The requirements to become an Angel of Death are the following: Race: Must be an Angel or Fallen Angel. Class: barbarians, fighters, paladins, rangers, some sorcerers and wizards. Base Attack Bonus: +5 Base Save Bonuses: Will +4 Feats: Power Attack, Cleave Skills: Knowledge Religion (2 ranks) Alignment: Any nonevil
Angel of Destruction Class Level Base Attack Bonus Fortitude Save Reflex Save Will Save Special 1 +1 +2 +0 +2 Smite infidel 1/day 2 +2 +3 +0 +3 Chain of fire 3 +3 +3 +1 +3 Smite infidel 2/day 4 +4 +4 +1 +4 Key to Hell 5 +5 +4 +1 +4 Chain of greater fire, smite infidel 3/day
Smite Infidel: At the given amount per day an angel of destruction may use this ability to smite an infidel. This works like the paladin’s ability smite evil, except that it works on creatures of any alignment-as long as they are not from the same plane as the angel (Heaven of Hell). If the angel has a smite ability from another source, he may combine multiple smites in a single attack.
Chain of Fire: At 2nd level, an angel of destruction gains the ability to create a chain of fire, a lashing weapon made of links of flame. The chain acts like a +1 silver flaming light flail. The angel always is considered proficient with this weapon, and any weapon feats (such as Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization) with the heavy flail, light flail, spiked chain, or whip apply to using the chain of fire. Creating the chain does not require an action, or does causing it to vanish. If it ever leaves the angel’s grasp, it vanishes immediately.
Key to Hell: Sometimes angels of destruction are sent to Hell to punish specific souls additionally. At 4th level the angel gains the ability to enter Hell with the protection from the natives of Hell. Once the angel completes their mission in Hell they immediately are transported back to Heaven. Angle’s of destruction that serve Hell simply gain the protection of Hell’s natives at 4th level.
Chain of greater Fire: At 5th level, the angel’s chain of fire gains power, acting like a +2 adamantine silver flaming light flail.

Wow, you really put a ton of effort into this. I'm impressed. I think I can see influences from a number of different sources, everything from Ravenloft to Blade to Legacy of Kain to even White Wolf's Vampire line, among others. Of course, I could be imagining a lot of those...
Now, does this world use the base D&D classes, or perhaps the ones from the d20 Modern book, or new classes entirely?

Now, does this world use the base D&D classes, or perhaps the ones from the d20 Modern book, or new classes entirely? It uses the base DnD classes and also new ones which I've yet to create. Also, most of the DnD pretisge classes from the prestige class books are acceptable as well. However, I'm sure there is one or two that wouldn't fit. Dragon Disciple, for example, more or less, would be accessible only in the future era.

Interesting...I believe I need an update though. The last thing I read was what you had about one month ago. Have you done any changes to it? If yes, would you send me a copy of it, please? Thank you! p.s. I am curious to see what you've done so far... a lot of writing job and many sleepless nights, I am sure, but there is always a reward for the hard worker...
