I feel the need to post the link I'm about to put up because I think this is a really good site. To some my belief in Loki comes as no great shock. I make it no secret that I am a Loki worshipper. I also want ot to be known that I also believe that Loki is not an all malevolent being either. I have my own veiws on what exactly the gods are but that is another matter entirely. What I want to adress here is what I believe then ature of Loki is. Ultimatly what we know about Loki are stories and how we interpret them is a personal thing. Granted Loki is a trickster among other things but I belive he put those talents to good use.
First lets take the birth of Sleipnir. When the Aesir were at war with the Vanir there was a wall that was destroyed. A mason offered to fix the wall and in return wanted his choice of godess in return. Loki convinced the gods to agree and by doing so not only was the wall almost fully repaired but Loki lured away the masons horse and that was how Sleipnir was born. This also caused the mason in his anger to reveal he was actually a giant.
I could go on with many other stories but tat would take way too long. Long story short I believe Loki to be a trickster and sometimes a general pain in the ass but I don't believe that he believes in destruction for destruction's sake. As far as being the bringer of Ragnarok who knows only way to really find out is to wait until it comes. There is someting to be said about Norse culture and mythology. It teaches u no one can escape death not even the gods so all we can do is prepare the best we can when the day comes for us to meet our end.

Ive known of your beliefs for a long time but still an interesting and cool post to read. Though I am not a worshiper, I accept the existence of the norse gods in some form and also respect their authority. I am also a fan of Norse mythology and its stories. I also agree that Loki himself is more of a good being rather then wicked.

What it really boil down to is why would Loki want to destroy his play toys. Conquering Asgard is more Surt's thing. Besides if there is any devil equivelent it is Surt since he wants to overthrow Odin.

Also Surt is King of the Fire giants after all and leader of an army of Fire Giants. Fire is often associated with the servants of Satan. And also the giants in the norse myths are normally called Jotuns which is supposed to mean chaos. Surt also is the one who sets the Earth on fire with his sword causing it to flame up. I believe Surt really is the equal of Satan within the norse myths.

Funny thing about Surt's sword I froget who originally owned it but it was traded so he could marry someone. He's the first to die in the attack on Asgard and Surt is the one who kills him with the flaming sword.
