www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/42aApparently the folks who design Magic once again have gotten a hankering to fix things that don't need fixing, so they've decided to monkey with the rules in the name of simplicity. You can read about all the changes at the link above, but I'll sum a few of them up here: 1. Instead of putting something in play, you now put it in "the battlefield." They explain their reasoning for this name change, but it makes no real difference to me. Likewise, instead of removing something from the game, you now "exile" it. 2. They've eliminated mana burn. Now there's no penalty for having mana left in your mana pool; it just goes away if you don't use it. There were some others, but those were the ones that really jumped out at me. They probably aren't even the rules changes that will have the biggest effect on the game, especially among the tournament crowd.

Yeah not a big deal though I can see that mana burn rule working to some of our deck's benefits. Didn't you have one deck John that you got tons of mana from it and you were always constantly trying to use it all so you weren't burned?

I can't remember, although I know I have a deck or two capable of getting in that situation for sure.
