Session 1 (Current year is 2080s) Sunday January 17th, 2010
Khanvant Gashtaham (John Easter) Percival Damodred (John Driscoll) Vandroy Wellington (Ken) Bjorm Yorgen (Noj) The city the campaign starts in the large city of Alabaster in the Arcadium University. The campaign starts with Vandroy, Ken, heading to his favorite class of the day, Necromancy. Today Vandroy is being taught Scare. The instructor goes over the components and lets us practice, giving Vandroy access to the spell scare. An announcement takes place that there will be a tournament in which students are able to gain extra practice with their spells. Percival Damodred, John, also hears this announcement while in his divination class. Before the announcement the instructor goes over identify which he had already gone over earlier, so he apologizes for repeating himself and goes over a second spell. After the class both Vandroy and Percival go to the source of the announcement in the cafeteria to figure out the rules of the competition. The room is broken up into four different areas based on freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior classes. The basic rules of the competition are that two opponents start in opposite ends of a building in small rooms, and once a flare is cast it is the signal to go out and start. The tournament starts tomorrow right after my necromancy class. While waiting, Vandroy sits in on a transmutation class. The teacher is teaching repair moderate damage. He goes on to say that the spell is useful to repair broken weapons, armor, etc. After the class Vandroy and Percival go to bed. In the morning we both head to the coliseum where we both end up waiting for nine battles before beginning the fight. Vandroy starts his fight by casting invisibility on himself and then summoning an undead the next turn. As the match goes on Vandroy’s opponent gets pummeled by the summoned undead and Vandroy’s offensive spells. Vandroy ends up winning the battle relatively easily, but at least gets great experience in his spells and abilities. Before Percival’s match, Percival casts mage armor on himself, but the headmaster dispels it. During Percival’s match, Percival started by casting a magic missile and then casted blur to make it harder to hit. Percival’s opponent casts sleep and Percival fails the check and is put asleep which allows his opponent to cast reduce person, which fails, and then Ray of Enfeeblement reducing Percival’s strength by seven. Percival’s opponent then casts Ray of Frost on Percival which wakes Percival up. Percival then casts magic missile on his opponent. Percival’s opponent then casts shocking grasp and then runs up to Percival planning to grasp Percival to shock him which allows Percival to get an attack of opportunity and Percival does indeed hit but for less damage because Percival’s strength was sapped earlier in the fight. The hit knocks Percival’s opponent unconscious. After the match Percival bows sarcastically to the headmaster that dispelled his mage armor. After the battle, all the winners are brought into a staff room and congratulated. We then get our rest for the day and the next day both Vandroy and Percival get byes. The third day is a three way match challenge but we are allowed to roam around the room that was relatively unused before this tournament. During this day of byes Vandroy and Percival talk with each other. As we are in the room Percival sees a trap door in the floor. Vandroy casts open/close on it and light on his cane and head down the winding staircase that is under this trap door. Eventually at the bottom of the staircase is a long hall in which at the end is a room surrounded with statues and in the middle is a teleporting pad with Khanvant standing in front of the pad. Khanvant states that he is the guardian of the room and he guards the teleport pad. Vandroy and Percival talk with Khanvant and try to gather information about him but don’t seem to get very far. Vandroy eventually casts light on Percival’s hand and then walks back towards the waiting room while Percival continues to talk with Khanvant and try to figure out why Khanvant would stand and protect a room for roughly 94 years. It would seem that the door leading out of the room is locked. Vandroy finds a spellbook that another wizard left behind and copies a third level spell into his own book. After sitting around for the day the third day comes and two three way matches take place in which the winners of the classes are named. Vandroy’s battle starts by an opponent casting tosh’s hideous laughter on another opponent. The battle plays out and again Vandroy ends up winning the battle which gives him the tournament trophy for his class. In Percival’s battle, one opponent is quickly taken out by sleep and shocking grasp. Percival casts several defensive spells like mage armor, shield, and obscuring mist which he learned from Vandroy. Eventually the opponent and Percival get into close combat and eventually Percival wins, but is razzed a little bit because he wins by using chain. After the battle there is a ceremony for everyone that participated, and Percival and Vandroy are rewarded for their victories. Percival receives a talisman of the disk and Vandroy receives a rod of frost. Vandroy then heads to find his uncle, Vladsputen (Vlad), and tells him about the trap door. Vlad doesn’t recall it, but suggests that Vandroy avoid going through the portal. Vandroy heads back to his quarters and tells Percival what he heard from his uncle. Then we hear a large alarm turn on signaling that the city is being attacked. The signal is actually a signal to evacuate the city and both Percival and Vandroy realize this after thinking a little bit. Vandroy and Percival are funneled by teachers and headmasters with other students out of the building possibly into a portal that takes us to the port city. Upon leaving we see a very big red and black dragon flying overhead watching things as smoke is coming up from buildings as battle rages in the distant parts of the city. As we start to push into the portal several students come running out of the portal shouting not to go in the portal. As we begin to turn around and head back to the school building we are besieged by knights with tattoos and black armor. We also see a man dancing in the courtyard with a rapier stuck in his foot. Percival pulls out the rapier and the man continues dancing. He seems to have some sort of dance spell cast on him. At that we turn our attention to the knights that are attacking and butchering students and others. The knights seem to have a leader of some sort who is a wizard that is bald with red robes and he seems to have a guardian with better gear than the other knights. The battle slowly turns in our favor as the summoned undead and knight defender take out the reinforcements and the wizard leader. After the battle we loot the guardian fighter’s great sword, the wizards ring. The cleric that helps us in the battle tells us that the main teleportation hub is no longer working. We tell the cleric that there is a teleport that is not part of the main hub and we begin to head towards it. Back at the teleport a man in black and his guards approach the teleport pad planning to go through it and Khanvant tells them to stop. They refuse to do so which results in a battle between the guard, four guards, and Khanvant. Khanvant takes out the guards and the officer relatively easily. Khanvant comes upstairs to see what is going on and sees a guard standing there that seems to have killed a student in the quarters. As we head through the courtyard we see what seems to be a demon fighting a man. Eventually once getting into the school we hear an explosion. Upon getting into the room where the portal is we are confronted by Khanvant who questions whether this is the only way out. Vandroy goes through the portal first ahead of everyone else while the rest break statues to block the entrance to the portal room. As we head through the portal we end up landing outside somewhere about 20 feet above the ground and fall down. X.P. 4000 plus petition

Session 2 Sunday January 24th, 2010 As the session starts, we notice that the teleport pad that was here has collapsed as it was at the top of a stairway. Upon looking around we see that the environment is rather dark and hard to see much else, but it is inside. There are three student wizards with us as well as the cleric Gerard and Roberto. Vandroy casts light on his cane and the room seems to be a dome and the light spell freaks out a bunch of bats in the room. Gerard mentions that he has used all his healing spells for the day. Roberto is still dancing from his boots. Vandroy asks him to go into the corner and not move wuahahaha. Percival has his weasel go up to the door in the room and check the cracks in the door. The weasel tells Percival that there are statues everywhere, in bad shape, and no booty anywhere. Gash tries to open the door but fails so Gerard smashes through it. As we move into the room Vandroy goes first but then gives his cane to Gerard and has him go first. The room appears to be very large. The room is also decrepit and appears to be looted. Gerard throws Vandroy’s cane up in the air and we notice that this room seems to be carved out of rock. Percival’s weasel, Captain Morgan, brings Percival to the plants which appear to be growing out of the wall of rock but not very far. There also seems to be murals in the wall that have been stolen. The room seems to have once been decorated lavishly. Vandroy assumes that this place is carved out of a mountain, dwarves once lived here, and it was a place that a king once lived in. Percival goes up to the door in this massive room and tries to open this massive door. Percival sees a light coming through the door and hears a metal clang hit the door that is made of crumbling stone. A second hit then comes and it is much larger and shatters the door. The thing that comes through the door appears to have headlights and is shining them at us. The golem creature seems to be a very large robotic looking thing with glowing eyes and is large sized. The two that are up by the golem are Percival and Gerard while the rest of us are further away and can see the lights and a metal-like sheen. Gerard drops the lighten torch and runs backwards. The creature shouts in a metallic voice that trespassers will be eliminated and moves towards Gerard. Percival notices that the creature is similar in design to Gash but green and has two swords instead of hands. Percival tumbles through the door to avoid the monster, and Gerard starts to run back towards the monster after noticing that it turned around towards Percival. Vandroy and Gash head towards the creature in hopes of having Gash convince the creature that we mean it no harm and Gash had the same job as this thing does. At that the creature shrinks back to a medium sized creature. The creature starts a conversation with Gash telling him that he wasn’t to allow anyone through. Gash tries to reason with the creature but it seems that over the years this creature has gone insane similar to Gash losing his memory. The creature refuses to accept Gash’s explanation and the battle continues again. Percival attacks the creature and tells Vandroy to take everyone else and run. Percival and Gerard continue to fight the creature. Vandroy and Gash continue running into the third chamber while Percival finishes off the war-forged. It seems that the creature has large sized bracers that Percival takes off. Percival gives the bracers to Gash which resize to fit Gash. We get the rest of the NPCs to move towards us and continue moving into the third chamber moving slowly by the sound of Roberto’s tap dancing. We end up traveling for about seven hours until finally reaching a door with light coming out of it. Percival tries to get Captain Morgan to investigate the room who is quite drunk from rum. Morgan returns saying that the sun is too bright. Gerard attempts to break through the door and successfully does so getting us outside in the fresh air and sun…finally. As we exit we are on a ledge of the side of a mountain. The decision is made to rest so that we can sleep and prepare spells. As we wake up Vandroy, Sven, and Gwen prepare a series of spider climbs so that everyone can get down the mountain. We are able to get down the mountain successfully and notice that we are by the coast. There is also a town nearby that is vastly empty. Noj’s character, Bjorm Yorgen, charges at us thinking that we are the same people that attacked his city before. Upon reaching us he stops the attack and asks us who we are. We tell him our story, and he tells us about himself. He seems to be a human that was augmented somehow by adding crystals to him and putting a black leather straight jacket. We decide to search for a map of the area in order to find if there is another town next to us. We also have Bjorm get us some food, but Vandroy lightning bolts the water to speed up the process. Percival decides to look for various supplies in the town and anything that is useful. Finally we decide to stop to rest for the day to repair, and Vandroy researches the senior’s spellbook. During the night we all hear screaming coming from where Sven, Gwen, and Ben are staying. Once we get there we see the three of them dead and having their soul sucked into the creature. The creature seems to be an incorporeal undead that has the faces of all its conquered foes merged into it. As the creature yells at everyone, Bjorm yells right back at it just as loud. Eventually after several melee attacks and spells the creature is killed and vaporizes into oblivion. Vandroy figures out that this creature is a Caller of the Mind and it is a large mass of nightmare creatures. In the morning the cleric blows his entire healing load on Gash. The rest of the day is spent relaxing and Vandroy and Percival spend the day learning a spell from the spell books. As we leave the next day for the nearest town, the session ends. X.P. 2000 plus Petition Petition Ideas: Vandroy Having Gash try to talk to the war-forged on the other end of the portal to stop the battle. Lightning Bolting the water. Gash Going allow with Vandroy’s idea. Bjorm Threatening me to get out of his house.

Session 3 Sunday February 7th, 2010 As the session starts we begin our travel to the closest town which is several days away. Vandroy agrees to prepare mount in the next day to increase our travel time. Bjorm leads the way as we go through a forest that continues to get thicker with his phantom panther, Bjyorgen. Vandroy comments favorably on Bjorn’s panther even though it isn’t real. Bjorn sees white fur while traveling in distance in front of us. Bjorn and Gerard run up to the creatures that appear to be 5 gorillas with four arms and razor sharp teach. We move up to take out these gorillas and Vandroy takes out the first one by summoning his skeletal owl bears and casting a magic missile to take one out. Gerard and Bjorn beat on three other gorillas while a fourth attacks Gash and Percival. Vandroy eventually casts spectral hand in order to start delivering touch spells against the gorillas. The gorillas have a great deal of trouble hitting the cleric and continue to repeatedly attack the cleric in frustration. Eventually we take out the gorillas after chipping them down to size. Vandroy then has his spectral hand go and annoy Percival until the spell runs out. After the battle we continue walking on to the next town as it is early afternoon still if that. The rest of the day goes uneventful and once night falls we stop for camp. Vandroy attempts to Touch of Fatigue Percival, but Percival passes the save to avoid its affects. Gash agrees to watch for the night but Percival asks for a second watch throughout the night. Bjorn, Roberto, and Percival take the second watches first, second, and third respectively. During the second watch Vandroy’s tent is obliterated by a tree being carried by an not a very nice person Ettin that somehow snuck into camp with two people watching. The Ettin bashes the tree over Vandroy’s tent. Vandroy swears, and casts Bonefiddle defensively to saw into the Ettin. However, the Ettin smacks Vandroy’s tent twice more taking Vandroy out to -3 hit points. Vandroy is able to stabilize while the rest of the party beats on the Ettin to take him out. Eventually the group takes the Ettin out and then has to push the Ettin off of Roberto. Vandroy swears up a storm upon waking up and blames the whole thing on Percival despite Percival had nothing to do with the creature attacking and getting into the camp. Following the encounter the people not on watch get the rest of their sleep before the third watch takes place. The rest of the night and day goes uneventful and Vandroy summons four horses for four party members to ride one of which is himself. At night during watches, Percival notices a goblin that he scares away after telling the goblin to come to the camp. Upon waking up Vandroy sees Percival staring at him, and asks him if he speaks goblin? Vandroy bluffs that he does and Vandroy tells him he should have been there when the goblin was outside camp. This third day at 6pm we come up to an encampment with rather large humans from a distance. Bjorn tells us that they are demi-orcs which are a human orc hybrid that are as mean as normal orcs but are smaller and weaker. We decide as a group to go up and talk to these demi-orcs and notice that the orcs have goblins imprisoned in cages. Vandroy tries diplomatically to get information from the orcs as to where they are and where the closest town is. Apparently there is a Dwarven city to the west across the city, but no human city remotely close. We decide to head west towards the Dwarven city to try to get some more information on what happened to Alabaster. On the way we are attacked by a giant turtle creature in the forest for some odd reason. This fight is ridiculous. Percival gets grabbed by the turtle’s mouth and gets severely hurt in one bite. Gerard charges up to the turtle dropping his shield in the process. As other people attack the turtle the turtle spits out Percival. Percival screams choking as he tumbles to the ground. Finally the creature spits ink into Bjorn’s eyes. The battle goes extremely rough with several members hitting other members and Vandroy blaming Percival yet again, but this time with some good cause. Nonetheless we beat the turtle that disappears after we kill it returning to the elemental plane of fire. We travel for about four days and eventually get to the coast and see a group of mountains across the sea that we assume is where we can find these Dwarves. We decide to head down the coast line to try to find a way to get across. X.P. 3,600 plus petition.

Session 4 February 14th, 2010 As the group heads north on the beach they were attacked by a Wyvern that swoops down and attacks us. Vandroy summons a zombie ogre that bashed in the Wyvern rather easily. Vandroy suggests he gets all the gold from the battle since he did most of the work, but the group disagrees for some reason. After the battle Vandroy notices a town in the distance and points it out to the group. Bjorm storms off towards the town claiming that all the people are probably dead and we should go see how they died. As we get closer to the town we notice that this alleged town is more of the demi-orcs that are appearing to be viking-esque. Bjorm gets to the town first roughly 30 feet ahead of us and tells the orcs that they aren’t dead. The orcs guarding the gate poke Bjorm trying to get him to go away. They yell back into the camp and out of the camp come a very large demi-orc that is carrying a very large hammer named Thorg. The orc comes up appearing very noble. Bjorm is able to convince the orcs to let us in to the town to get a boat to get across the river. Vandroy turns invisible and stays behind the group because he doesn’t trust these orcs. Eventually Thorg comes back stating that the group can cross the river in one his boats but they will not come with. Thorg states that if the orcs discover the group is lying they will hunt the group down and kill them and their families. Once on the boat Roberto demands that everyone on the boat row as he steers the boat with a couple ropes and appears to be rather good at steering. On their way across the river the group is almost capsized by a Dragon Turtle that attacks the group’s vessel. The dragon turtle casts a massive breath attack that almost took out the entire party. Roberto and Gerard survive the best actually, and Roberto manages to keep control of the vessel to prevent it from being destroyed. As the dragon turtle gets a look at the party it notices that they aren’t orcs and stops attacking. The turtle introduces himself as Pillsbury the Magnificent and apologizes for attacking the group who is now uncertain which way is the coast. The dragon turtle gives the group a pair of goggles (eyes of truth) as payment for attacking them. Afterwards Vandroy gets to the ship. The group decides to break off the head on the front of the longboat and write on the sail that we are not orcs. Once night falls we decide to have the two on watch that goes uneventful, but Bjorm and Gash see a comet flash by the sky. It would appear as if something was guarding our vessel as we sail by. Once morning comes we prepare our spells, and are shot at by cannon fire in order to gain the Dwarves attention. Continuing onward we park in the Dwarven docks. We explain to the orcs that we just need to get back to Alabaster, but the Dwarves state that we should not be here because of the old rules. We try to convince the Dwarves that there are new rules to obey and the new rules say that you can’t attack envoys such as us who are trying to tell them messages such as the orcs are about to attack them. We are brought to the Dwarf king Chuglor. Chuglor tells us of the old rules which state that thousands of years ago a war almost started between all of the races, but as years went by and populations grew the old gods interfered and split the lands up between the races. He then states that despite these rules, some races have gone against the rules and started expanding outward into rival races lands. We attempt to convince the king to help show us how to get back to Alabaster. We tell him how we got here and that we just want to get back to Alabaster. Chuglor agrees to let us stay in his city for a bit until we can get this all sorted out. We depart from Chuglor and go item hunting for new gear. X.P. 900 plus petition.

Session 5 February 28th, 2010 Vandroy purchases a Shadow Veil and a headband of intellect +2 from the magic items shop to start off the session. Next day the map that the king promised us is delivered. The map points us to the closest human city that Percival recognizes the name as being similar to a city far away from Alabaster and about 100 years ago was at war with Alabaster, and it’s called Santoriu. Vandroy remembers this also, but also recalls that Santoriu sent a colony in the northwest of the continent. Also on the other side of Santoriu there is a settlement that Alabaster settled. We must head through the continent we are on through a peninsula where there is a Gnome city called Cogsville. After being given all of this information we head off to the peninsula and the Gnome village; however, we are far away and weren’t provided any transportation, and the terrain we are on is mountainous. About 8 hours into our travel on the first day we see a bipedal lizard (huge raptor) charging at us after noticing that we saw it trying to sneak up on us. The raptor charges up and hits Percival extremely hard with its claw. Everyone else slashes at the raptor doing decent damage and Vandroy is able to deal the killing blow with a necrotic bloat. The group is rather grossed out with the cyst on the raptor as it smells really bad and the cyst does not go away. We decide to travel on for about a mile more upwind of the stinking raptor before making camp. The first watch goes uneventful, but during the second watch of Bjorm and Gash a bunch of rustling in the grass around the camp is heard. They all appear to be Gnolls and there are a lot of them. The Gnolls all surround us and start slashing at us with battle axes, however, Gash is able take out two enemies in one attack. Bjorm is also able to take several Gnolls in one attack. Gerard and Vandroy wake up in the battle to the sight of a battle axe to their faces. When Vandroy is finally able to take an action he summons a troll skeleton that takes out one of the Gnolls. Gash continues bashing the Gnolls again and takes out two more with his longsword and reach glove. Eventually we overcome the Gnolls with weapon bashing and Gerard is knocked out in the battle but is saved by his own healing belt by Percival. Once the morning comes Vandroy summons four mounts and uses one to tie all the armor to one mount and the other three for Percival, Gerard, and Vandroy. Gash cannot ride a horse and Bjorm summons his own mount. Bjorm charges off and eventually his horse dies from tire so Bjorm has to summon another mount and we continue on for the rest of the day. During the night’s watches the first, second, and third watches go uneventful. The next day has uneventful traveling and during the nights watched we are attacked by ogre barbarians attacking the camp holding massive trees that look really nice. The battle goes fairly well for us especially because Bjorm puts out a lot of damage, and we end up taking out the two ogres relatively easily. Percival spike chains an ogre in its groin as he slides under its legs and swings as he goes through. The ogres have magical armor, trees, and rings of protection of which one goes to Gerard and one to Gash. The rest of the night goes uneventful and the next day we cast mounts once more and head towards the Gnome city that is just at the horizon as we leave. We get up the plateau easily enough and reach a pair of gates that look like giant cogs that were rolled over each other. The bottom appears as if it was melted out with acid to form a door. As we walk into the city there is quite a panic as the Gnomes are being digested by dozens of gelatinous cubes. There are lots of Gnomes in armor and shields and other Gnomes looking to be in oriental type armor, and finally robot-ish looking creatures attacking the cubes as well. Finally a lot of the buildings appear to be made of sheet metal with pipes running everywhere in and out of houses and into the ground and out. The battle is pretty difficult as PCs are absorbed by the cubes. The session ends as we take out the main group of cubes and a slimy Gnome is flanked by two cubes. Vandroy casts fly on himself at the end of the battle and goes up 60 feet. Petition 3480 plus petition

Session 6 March 7th, 2010 The session starts with us continuing the battle that we were in last time. The slimy Gnome standing in between two oozes seems to be with the oozes, perhaps one of them? Vandroy attempts to talk the Gnome to get him to let us through unharmed, but the Gnome tells him to stop blathering and successfully dispels Vandroy’s flying causing Vandroy to take substantial damage. The oozes than move up towards Vandroy and Percival as Percival and Gash slash away at one of the oozes as Vandroy, who has no spells left, runs away. Next an ooze tries to engulf Vandroy and just barely misses as Vandroy uses an action point to dodge it. Gash slashes at two more oozes taking one more out. Percival slashes at one more ooze and Vandroy moves back and blasts an ooze with a magic missile. On his next turn the Gnome mage than casts a spell on the group that covers them with green slime that eats away at their flesh. Vandroy is the only group member that is unaffected by the spell simply because he moved back before casting magic missile. As the group scrapes the slime off of themselves Vandroy casts Ray of Enfeeblement on an ooze to try to weaken it. Vandroy attempts to run away from an ooze in order to try to cast a spell on the Gnome wizard. The group continues bashing at the oozes and the Gnome and Vandroy drops a fireball from a scroll onto the Gnome. Finally, after the group bashes at the Gnome one more time he turns into an ooze and sinks into the ground. The group then takes out the last ooze with hacking and slashing tactics. Percival takes out the ooze with his spiked chain. After the battle ends, the group sees that there is a lot of destruction and death in the city as many Gnomes have been slain by the oozes and the remaining survivors are cleaning up their homes. Apparently Percival speaks Gnome so he goes around the town trying to find the leader of the town to gather some information from. Vandroy tells a female Gnome that he can bring her dead husband back to life if she shows him to the town leader King Putt, and she agrees. King Putt shows Vandroy the direction to Alabaster and excuses himself in order to deal with his destroyed city. Vandroy goes into a magic shop and buys a lot of Onyx gems for his undead animating. Vandroy then hears that the female shop owner mumbles something about telling the guards about Vandroy being a necromancer. Upon hearing this Vandroy turns invisible and leaves the town. Gash buys a new shield from the shield shop, and Percival buys some Pearls from the shop keeper after insulting her. Bjorn starts a cult about the new rules and gathers a very sizable crowd of Gnomes. Slowly the Gnomes are being told that they need to go to war with the half-orcs and the dwarves while they side with the humans. Gash and Percival argue about warring with the dwarves and half-orcs. While sleeping outside the town Vandroy is attacked by a small octopus that he defeats and then raises as an electric elemental undead zombie octopus naming it Ultros the Shocktapus. Next day the group is brought to see the elder of the town who dwells in a metal hut that has a view of the sea. The elder is also a war forged and he called us to thank us for getting rid of the ooze master Ivan, and to question Gash about where he came from and when he was built. We find out that the civilization has been around for about 200 years before the rules and they ignore those rules. The elder tells us that Ivan was an archeologist that was digging in the caves that grew attached to the oozes and started controlling them. We agree to get rid of Ivan and then continue heading towards Alabaster. The group argues for several minutes about deciding how to dig into the ground, but finally Gerard goes and gets shovels and Gash is repaired. The digging takes about 7 hours of digging in order to reach something. While digging Percival and Bjorn discuss the effects of the oozes. Eventually Gash hits stone so we decide to clear the area and it becomes obvious that this stone in brick form was put here in purpose. Gerard has Bjorn stand on the stone as he turns it into mud and Bjorn falls down but safely. We then tie a rope around a war forged so that we can get out and then the rest of us jump into the hole. We have Percival stay behind much to his dislike. First we decide to go up first at which point we see a tunnel that leads to a dead end, so we turn around and head back down the stairs which seem to go down for a long time. At the bottom is a thick wooden door. Rather than trying to open the door with the knob, we willingly knocked the door down. Behind the door is broken tables, chairs, and overall the room looks very old and unmaintained. Also there is Ivan in the room with his gelatinous cubes. The battle goes semi-good with Ivan running away after getting severely damaged from Vandroy. Unfortunately the rest of the party is grappled in a tentacle spell by Ivan for most of the battle. The group follows Ivan down the stairs behind the next room in an attempt to catch Ivan who tried to get away. At the bottom of the stairs is another set of doors Gerard breaks through. The room on the opposite side is very huge, even cavernous. We cast light and continue following Ivan’s trail of blood. Eventually we see a war forged stab Ivan and lightning bolt him as Ivan screams. The war forged is very tall and slim and shouts “None shall pass” as it tosses Ivan to the ground. Ivan shouts, “what are you,” right before he was killed, and at that the session ends. Petition ideas: 3585 • Vandroy o Blathering on at the beginning of the combat. o “Resurrecting” the female Gnome’s husband idea. o Telling the magic woman that everyone likes necromancy. • Gash o His odd conversation with Sheldon the shield salesmen. o Argument with Bjorn about the orc/dwarf war. • Bjorn o His new rules preaching to the Gnomes. o Argument with Gash about the orc/dwarf war. • Percival o Insulting the magic shop owner and basically calling her stupid.

Session 7 (Murphy’s Law Session) March 21st, 2010 The session starts underground in what seemed to be another mountain range or something and we see another war forged kill Ivan Cosby the Ooze master as it shouts, “None shall pass!” This war forged is lanky with a blade coming out of his gauntlet and is roughly 6.5 feet tall. We decide to have Gash move up to grab the Gnome’s body and the war forged lets us do so without attacking us. We then take the body back into the town to show proof that we have destroyed Ivan. We all manage to successfully climb out of the hole back into the town. Once out we head for the metal hut to meet the war forged elder to turn over the body and claim our prizes. Percival gets a pair of strong arm bracers, Bjorn gets the vampiric torque, Gerard gets a ring of calling, Gash gets an upgraded +1 sword and +1 shield, and Vandroy gets a pair of gray gloves with blood red inside and ending in claws (hellcat gauntlets) (next spell that targets a creature also does 1d6 per spell level, so a 3rd level spell does 3d6 and it can be done 5 times a time), and a healing belt. The elder, whose name is Good Wink, tells Gash that he has no clue about his background. The next day we identify the magic items and Percival looks for a bigger spiked chain to use. Finally we decide after much arguing to go back down the hole and take out the war forged and have Bjorn go through the portal to see where it goes. The war forged attacks us with a feint attack on Percival as it moves towards him and stabs him with a hidden blade gauntlet. Gerard moves into attack him, misses horribly and gets punched with the blade gauntlet as a result. Percival is able to trip the war forged as the war forged critical misses. Ultros is able to grapple the war forged while the zombie wyvern slams the war forged and Vandroy enfeebles him. The war forged tries to break the grapple but fails, which allows the rest of the party to beat on him. Vandroy is able to deal the final blow on the war forged with a magic missile and the wyvern’s slam attack. Gash takes the magic belt and gauntlets off of the war forged. In the back of the room there is the portal and we tie a rope around Bjorn and have him go through the portal first. Percival, Gash, and Gerard hold the rope, but as Bjorn enters the rope is pulled into the portal and Gerard can’t let go and is pulled into the portal too with the rope. As a result Percival jumps through the portal. On the other side the portal is half gone and the ground is lava. Because Percival jumped through the portal he almost falls into the portal but is able to grab a hold of Gerard, and both are being held by Bjorn. Gerard dismisses his armor and weapon so that he lightens the load and tries to swing Percival up. Percival grabs the ledge but now Bjorn is at the bottom of this chain and Gerard is in the middle. Vandroy and Gash decide to wait 20 more minutes before they do anything else. Back through the portal Gerard tries to cast a spell and tried holding on with one hand but fails horribly. Bjorn falls and starts to burn from the lava, but is able to climb up enough of the rope to avoid getting burned. Bjorn then summons a purple pony and Percival, who is now on the platform, puts his chain over it to try to use it as a fulcrum but the pony gets hurt and tries to attack Percival but fails and the pony runs off of the platform on accident. Gerard then performs a last ditch effort to throw Bjorn up to the platform while he falls into the lava. Percival then casts resist energy fire on Bjorn while Bjorn goes back down to try to save Gerard while Percival holds the rope yet again. Bjorn is able to grab Gerard but Percival isn’t able to pull them up so Bjorn and Gerard slip back down into the lava. Eventually Percival is able to pull Bjorn and Gerard up as they lay on the platform burnt and charred rather badly. Vandroy refuses to go through the portal when no one comes back through at first, but finally casts fly on himself and flies through only to see all the damage that was caused by this ridiculously awesome scenario. Vandroy pops Gerard’s arms back into their sockets and heal him, but he is missing eye brows and hair. The group decides to rest in a corridor just off the platform for a day. Vandroy agrees to take first watch along with Gash. Next morning we head down the corridor that dead end at a brick wall. Gash and Bjorn begin shouting and screaming which causes a blue beam to come through the wall at us. Vandroy mentions turning stone to mud and Gerard does say that he has it prepared. However, one of the blue rays does hit Bjorn and does significant damage and breaking up the wall in the process. Finally Gerard charges through the wall to reveal a human looking war forged with etchings. The group moves up to attack the forged. Bjorn curses him as usual dropping his saves and what not by 6, Vandroy casts a lightning bolt and Ultros moves into flanking position. The forged moves back and fire another beam at Bjorn, so Bjorn and Percival charge up to him to continue the fight. Vandroy casts Snake’s Swiftness to allow all allies to make a free attack. Percival manages to critical hit the forged and seems to drop him but the forged gets back up. Gash charges at the forged but gets slashed by a pole of energy in the process of hitting the forged too. Gerard charges at the forged and manages to take out the forge, and it was Gerard’s first attack for the battle too. The forged has a ring, and a neck piece that is specifically meant for Gash. Vandroy concentrates on the ring and is able to tell that it is from the moderate evocation school. The session ends here then. X.P. 2730 plus Petition • Percival o Volcano o Pony as a fulcrum • Bjorn o Volcano o Pony o Liking volcano scene • Gash o Willing to fly through portal to help • Vandroy o Being a stubborn not a very nice person and not going through the portal o Popping Gerard’s arms back in o Taking first watch for the first time

Session 8 Saturday April 3rd, 2010 The session starts by Vandroy casting light on Gash’s eyes so that we can see. The place again is carved out of stone and is extremely high. After 5 hours of traveling we are able to find an exit by following a wall to a door. Vandroy notices that the structure once housed life. On the walls there used to be murals, there is decrepit wood, and this place is very similar to the previous mountains we walked through. The exit we find is really big and made of stone, but there is a smaller door that Gerard attempts to break through and fails several times. Likewise Percival fails to break down the door. Vandroy suggests that the group try the door handle and is attacked by a spinning blade of magic energy as the doors trap is sprung. Percival is very badly hurt by the blades, but is healed significantly by Gerard. Percival decides to slap Vandroy and succeeds, so Vandroy attempts to have Ultros attack Percival but fails. Nevertheless, the cracking of Ultros creeps Percival out enough to satisfy Vandroy. The trap resets, presenting us with a conundrum as to how we get through this door without getting cut up by the trap spell. Bjorn tries to open the door and succeeds the second time but gets cut pretty badly the first time. Through the door, there is a pitch black tunnel and we can smell fresh air. Bjorn runs off ahead of us after getting through the door and eventually we reach another door that we are able to break through. Once through we notice that there is a little light, and everything around us is a giant wasteland; everything looks to have been badly burnt. Above us in the sky are roots of a massive tree that form a dome encasing us in this place. Also upon thinking no one can recall anything about where the elves homeland is at. The only thing is that we know the elves were very far to the north/west, and we are probably further from Alabaster than we were before we went through the portal that led to the volcano. There does seem to be small encampments around us but because we are on the top of the mountain we can’t make any details out. Once out we can’t seem to find Bjorn. The group decides to head down the mountain. Gerard, Percival, and Gash climb down and Vandroy summons a zombie Wyvern to fly him down as far as he can because he won’t climb down. Gerard, Percival, and Gash get down successfully. Vandroy almost gets down all the way on the wyvern, but as the wyvern disappears Vandroy lands perfectly on a boulder and then falls the remainder of the way taking minimum damage. Vandroy turns Percival invisible so that he can investigate an encampment, which happens to be the largest encampment in the area. Once within 60 feet of the encampment, Percival sees that the encampment is inhabited by Kobolds. All of a sudden Percival notices that he is engulfed in balls of fire. As he turns around he sees a very large kobold with wings, a tail; almost dragon-like. Percival attempts to back pedal and protect himself but fails to move far enough away to prevent another breath attack, but des dodge the fire and manages to run away. The dragon-like creature eventually turns back and begins to regroup with the kobolds to come and attack us. As a group we decide to run away from the encampment and run for a long time. It seems that the kobolds ran a different direction. As we are running we look to our left once we stop and notice a group of Kobolds whose leader commands them to kill us. Vandroy attempts to reason with them and fails so a battle breaks out. The leader fires an arrow at Vandroy but misses so Gash charges up to the group of Kobolds hitting one. Vandroy drops a fireball on the group doing moderate damage but several take minimum damage. Gerard charges up and attacks on of the Kobolds who then promptly retaliate. At some point Gerard, Percival, and Gash are entangled by a fiery whip that greatly hinders their actions. The battle continues and eventually we take out the kobolds and their leader while taking relatively little damage. Vandroy knows that Kobolds are forced to stay on their homeland because the kobold’s land is directly below the elves tree-land and the Kobolds are locked here by the elves. They are created by dragons, worship dragons, are stupid, live in a tribal society, they eat anything for food as long as it is meat. We spot a rather large group of kobolds behind us that we promptly run away from, and then the session ends there. X.P. 1260 plus petition

Session 9 Sunday October 3rd, 2010 As we are running Percival starts to tire after a little bit of running as does Gerard who gets extremely tired after 4 hours of running. Despite all this running it seems that we aren’t any closer to the side/wall of this underground area; perhaps we were running to the center. After stopping to rest we find a group of boulders that are shaped into a V that help us conceal ourselves while sleeping. During the second watch, Gash sees a group of three kobolds sneaking up on us, but they are failing at doing so. Gash and Gerard manage to kill the kobolds rather easily while Vandroy falls asleep in the middle of the battle. After the battle the group goes back to sleep and upon waking up Percival and Vandroy prepare their spells for the day. The group all decide to head in one direction, but Vandroy decides to head in another direction, so Percival decides the group should head in the direction Vandroy thinks is correct. We walk for a very long time and see more boulders strewn about but nothing else. Vandroy casts fly and haste on Percival who flies up to the ceiling of this area and attempts to find an exit or some sort of way to get out of this place. Unfortunately he doesn’t find anything, so he attempts to use a rope check to secure himself to the ceiling or a root structure. As Percival begins to hang from the ceiling he writes a note about what is happening and ties it to a flint and drops it hoping one of us will find it. Vandroy does manage to find the note, but will have to wait another day before he can fly up there and rescue Percival. As Percival is hanging there he looks around and sees the mountain that we came from that is actually a volcano. Because of a lack of clouds and atmosphere John can see to the ground and can make out everything that is going on; including various encampments and what not. We continue to walk towards a wall in the direction we have been walking all along and eventually we see a large white circular structure with about a 50 radius. The structure seems to be white pillars that are Elvish in nature. Percival eventually gives up on waiting and falls but casts levitate when he gets about 90% of the way to the ground, and succeeds so that he doesn’t go splat. Once Percival gets to the ground he sees the group heading away from him towards a white structure. When we get within 50 feet of this structure we run into an invisible force field. Upon turning around, we see Percival coming down from the roots. Upon re-uniting we head back to the force field to determine if we can find a way through it. Percival feels his ways around the force field to see if he can find a door in it, but doesn’t find one. Vandroy manages to see writing on one of the pillars in a type of Elven; it seems to be numbers, 630/845. Other pillars did not have numbers just the one. Gash seems to suggest that the numbers could be times but we aren’t sure for what and we aren’t sure what time it currently is. We decide to wait at the pillars for the duration of two alarm spells to determine if anything happens during this time period. Upon waiting we see a big winged kobold that has a horde of other kobolds behind him coming at us! The group manages to cut the random kobolds down rather quickly using cleave and fireballs while the winged one stays in the background and waits. Vandroy tries various necrotic spells on the flying kobold and fails several but eventually gets a necrotic cyst on him. Eventually we kill all the kobolds and the flying kobold disappears with a very large cyst on him and bleeding quite badly. After the battle we hear humming coming from the pillars and a bright light that appears and disappears. Percival and Gash hear voices coming from inside the dome. Eventually we see a female elf in robes appear behind us. She disables our magic enchantments and opens a glowing doorway for us to go through and enter the dome. The female elf goes back behind the pillars and there are several flashes of light and she comes back with several more elves who ask for our weapons. Pretty much everyone is reluctant to comply except for Vandroy who doesn’t have any weapons to give anyway. The elves than take us through a portal where there are a couple flashes of light and we end up in another area entirely. The session ends there. 2400 X.P. plus petition

Game was fun over all. It was fun to defeat a lot of enemies in a single attack in the battle. Just kind of wished we did a little more. In particular going beyond that force field area.

Session 10 Monday April 18th, 2011 We pass through the portal and end up within the tree where there is magical lighting and several elves. The female elf that escorts us tells us that we need to talk to Zennon. Gash is confused at why we are all being forced to talk to Zennon and the female elf tells Percival that the robot, Gash, talks a lot. Percival tells the female elf that its Vandroy’s robot, so Vandroy tells her that he awakened the robot and she believes him. As we walk up the stairs for a long while, Percival, Gerard and Vandroy notice even though these elves have some form of armor and some sort of weapon and spell casters they all have spell components. Vandroy seems to recall from a book that the author suggests there may be a race of elves that are all born with magical power. We finally reach a room where there are guards that look like actual guards in the typical sense. In the room sitting up on a chair is an elf that is extremely old and decrepit. The old man is Zennon and he asks us why humans are here. We tell him we are trying to get back to the human city and he says we are far away; we then explain everything that we have done so far to get to this point. Percival also tells Zennon the description of Bjorn and Zennon has the female elf grab a crystal ball and a table so that he can attempt to scry for Bjorn. Within the crystal ball it can be seen that Bjorn is walking with a kobold impaled on his weapon that he is walking with, and he is covered in blood. Zennon has the female elf take a small scouting team to find Bjorn while Zennon talks to us. Zennon talks to Gash about his nature and the other guardians we have encountered and had to kill because they have all lost their minds. Zennon then tells us about the rules of the land between the races and long time ago more than 2000 years ago. Zennon says that at that time dragons ruled the land and this was before elves existed. The dragons had a king who was stronger than the other dragons and was worshipped like a god. This kingdom eventually noticed that one of the animals on the planet started building things that turned out to be primitive humanoids. Some of the dragons took interest in this though most didn’t care. The ones that took an interest in the humans wanted to also build things like these humans did but couldn’t given their massive size and lack of opposable thumbs. The dragons decided to enslave the humans and warped some of them and created a creature that became the kobolds who were supposed to be as similar to dragons as possible but smaller; however, it turned out to be a disaster. Next the dragons took more primitive humans and created an immortal; the first elf. The dragons liked the idea but not having immortal slaves, so they changed the formula to give the next batch of elves a life cycle of about 1000 years. The elves could build structures for themselves but not for dragons so the dragons decided to take other primitive humanoids and turn them into dwarves. The dwarves were able to make dwelling structures for dragons better than elves and the elves were used to make art and furnishings as well as keep the lore of the dragons. The dragons let the humans to evolve on their own and to be the base for their own creations. The humans started to use rock or bone that was shaped into weapons and they saw that the humans got along ok with the dwarves but not the orcs who were larger than the humans, but not as smart and crafty. The dragons then mixed the humans and dwarves which resulted in the demi-orcs who were as smart as humans and stronger, but not as charismatic. Finally, some dragons decided to use elves and dwarves to create the Gnomes who were used to basically be jesters for the dragons. They were nimble and free spirited like elves, but good at building and working underground like the dwarves and at making strange trinkets. As the dragons were creating things via magic, the immortal elf studied the magic and also became the first wizard. The dwarves also started to create steel using the iron they found which the dragons didn’t want. The dwarves used the metal to create metal clothes/armor for themselves which caused the elves to think that the dwarves were trying to mimic the dragons’ scales. Some of the dragons, particularly the kings son did not believe in using magic to create/enslave races and have them create structures and items for the dragons. The dragon king’s son would talk to the slaves and comfort them. At the same time the immortal elf also disagreed with what the dragons were doing, so he began teaching the other elves magic and it went well. The dwarves couldn’t comprehend the magic mostly because they keep digging despite the fact that the dragons don’t need them too anymore. Eventually the humans and demi-orcs stop fighting because they realize it isn’t getting them anywhere other than death. Humans start to display magical powers as well. One human was able to change into animals around him and heal people and his tribe merged with other human tribes creating a unified human tribe. After thousands of years humans eventually learn how to work metal like the dwarves and some dragons go to watch humans and instigate a hydra that it found and have it attack the humans, but what actually happened was that the humans killed the hydra and the dragon that brought the hydra. Eventually the dragons begin to fight each other disagreeing over the treatment of the humanoid races. The Demi-Orcs, Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes team up with the dragons that oppose how the humanoids are being treated, but the majority of dragons are still on the side of the dragon king and it is agreed that this king must be killed by the leaders of the humanoids races. The son of the dragon king and his supporters distract the dragon king while the six leaders of the base races “sneak” into the dragon kings castle and attack him. The king realizes he will lose so he curses the dragons that oppose him to be very shiny (metallic dragons) and the king’s son and his dragons quasi-kill the dragon king/god though he is not truly dead forever. The remaining dragons that sided with the king fly off as a result of losing their king god. They took with them what was left of the kobolds as their slaves and they came to the island that the group is currently at in game. The heroes that fought the god king basically disappeared after the battle and the people of their races started to worship these leaders of the base races. These are the old gods of the base races that we have been told of. For a long time the races all got a long since they had a common bond of being enslaved by dragons. Eventually, however, the races forgot of the common bond and they began to fight over territory and such and racism started to pop up. The races started to live apart so the old gods intervened and decided the best result is to have all the races divided and no races should ever meet until the racism and hatred stopped. As time passed people forgot about the old gods until something happened when Zennon was about fifty years old. The dragon king re-emerged from the land alive again and the immortal elf god, who was the last to be remembered and worshipped, predicted that there would be three heroes that would come to overthrow the dragon king. The elf god said that they would be human, and though the elves were not happy about that, they agreed to it but had an elf go with them. The elf finds the three human triplets and tells them that they will save the planet from a dragon god and they were shocked about it. The three go on a quest, help people get stronger, and eventually manage to defeat the dragon king/god and become the current three gods that humans currently worship. It’s also not common knowledge that the three humans are related. At first the three brothers got a long, but eventually they grew apart. One brother was a paladin Sardaman, while another was Zamarich who was very evil. At the beginning Sardaman ignored what Zamarich did such as when he turned the elf that was with them into a kobold and left him that way, ruining Zamarich’s reputation. The third brother was named Guthix and was a neutral brother neither good nor bad. At about this time people started to go against the old rules and the Gnomes and Dwarves got a long pretty well. At the same time the tree the group is currently in was being grown and the elf that went with the three brothers that was turned into a kobold was trapped beneath the tree and all other kobolds were sent there as well and none have ever escaped since. The tree was grown as a prison for the kobolds and younger evil dragons and the elves decide to live inside the tree to guard the kobolds and dragons from getting out and causing problems. As it turns out the elf kobold still had the life expectancy of an elf and was contacted by the dragon god and perhaps a deal was struck leading to the elf kobold getting what was left of the dragon god’s powers and attacked the elves; organizing the kobolds, summoning dragons and try to destroy the tree, but some adventurers along with the elves repelled the attack, causing the half elf half dragon god to disappear. Vandroy remembers at the beginning of the campaign there was a guy riding a two-headed dragon that matched the description of this half elf half dragon god. Zennon then goes on to talk about the creator of Gash and war-forged like him who was a Gnome named Turb Ultron. Some people began to find dragon tombs and in them were items that people were not supposed to have because they were very strong; however, some cultists that worship darker portions of Zamarach went to these places and made them cult locations doing bad things with dark magic that the dragons had, such as teleportation circles that leaded elsewhere. Some adventurers went around and flushed out the cultists and collect the items, but Turb created war-forged to guard the areas and prevent intruders from stealing any remaining hidden caches of items. The war forged were once people that volunteered to be put into the war-forged bodies, so there is a very good chance that Gash was once a Gnome. With that the story is finished and Zennon attempts to scry on Alabaster to see if we have a city to go home to. Zennon then has some of his guards escort us to rooms to rest. When we wake up Bjorn is sleeping next to us with his spear. Percival asks why he got to keep his spear and the guards’ say that they tried to take it, but Bjorn was very set on keeping his weapon. Percival and Vandroy prepare spells and then the group minus Bjorn goes off to talk with Zennon and attempt to recover our weapons. When we get to Zennon he tells us that he has terrible news. Alabaster is not a city anymore and all of the remaining human forces have gathered at Vandroy’s families’ mansion outside the city. They are constantly fighting off waves of demons that are attacking. Before we go through a portal Zennon creates, Gash wakes up Bjorn with a very loud rooster noise. Bjorn then hits Gash in the face with a kobold head that was on his weapon. The two then come back to Zennon’s room. Before we head through the portal, Zennon agrees to send a small force of 20 elves with us through the portal to help us retake our city. Vandroy and Gerard go through the portal first, followed by the rest of the group and the elves. On the other side of the portal we arrive just outside the city, and have to travel a bit to get inside the city and at the mansion. We start to walk through the city and are eventually attacked by dretchs that are almost immediately killed by the elf soldiers’ swords. Once we are about half way to the mansion we hear angry barking that starts to get louder. Eventually we see hell hounds streaming out of the buildings that have smoke coming out of their nostrils and there are about 50 of these, with more off in the distance. Elise, Zennon’s assistant caster, takes her elves and runs off to distract most of the hell hounds, but there are several dozen that remain by us that we have to fight off before we can make a run for the mansion. We eventually defeat the hell hounds including two much larger hell hounds and clear a path for the mansion by doing so; or at least we hope.

Session 11 Monday April 29th, 2011 The session starts with the group running towards the mansion of Vandroy’s family after they killed the hell hounds at the end of last session. As we start to head towards the mansion we see smoke and fire in the distance from some hell hounds that went off to attack the elf party and we end up encountering more hell hounds attacking us in a V –like pattern. One of the hounds is much larger and has a magical saddle on it like some others we fought at the end of last session. The battle goes our way and we are able to subdue the hell hounds, but a couple party members do take a bit of damage from breath weapons and from the larger hell hound’s attacks. After Vandroy causes a necrotic cyst to bloat on the large hell hound, the hound runs away in fear, but gets critically hit from Percival which manages to kill it. After that the group quickly finishes off the smaller hell hounds thus ending the battle quite swiftly. After the battle we continue to head towards the mansion and manage to get there after about an hour without any more interference from hell hounds or other creatures. At the mansion the walls are still intact and tall and are a bright shining white brick, and the front gates seem to be made of Adamantine. Bjorn knocks and kicks on the gate. Vandroy turns into gaseous form and floats through the gate while Percival and Bjorn climb over the gate. Bjorn, Percival and Vandroy attempt to lift the adamantine bar that is holding the gate closed but Vandroy can’t hold it up so he lets it drop and the bar crushes Percival Bjorn. Eventually Gerard and Gash open the now non-barred gate, remove the bar from Percival and Bjorn and place it back on the gate. Eventually the group re-unites at the front of the mansion which is boarded up and less than perfect since it has been attacked from the demons. The stone floor collapses and we slide down a trap into a room with a bunch of guards of the city who seem to think that we are demons. Vandroy info dumps everything we have been through to the commander who thinks we are crazy and tells us to go talk with their high lord, Arzimon. We are led throughout the mansion meeting various guardsmen who are strategizing and figuring out what to do, and Vandroy sees his uncle Vlad Sputin along with the high lord. Vandroy and Vlad talk about everything that has happened and Vandroy and Bjorn sell out Percival for standing outside waiting for the elves telling Vlad that he decided to stand out there against their advice even though that’s not at all what happened. Eventually the 21 elves all return to the mansion but some are very beaten up and injured. Some of the elves climb over the gate and they help Percival move the bar to let the elves in and put the bar back. Percival and the elves then hear banging coming from the inside of the mansion which is actually Gash who is trying to get Percival’s attention. Once Percival gets to the door the stone trap doors activate and they slide down into the basement like we did earlier. The warriors in the basement are quite surprised to see a group of elves. Percival goes off to see the High Lord and the Head Guard Vlad Sputin. Eventually Gash comes back and greets Percival telling him that he lured him to the trap doors to get inside the mansion. Vlad then leads Percival and the elves through the mansion and a back door, but Percival, Elise and Vlad hear battle sounds coming from the front of the mansion outside and they run off in that general direction. Once they get there they see the remainder of elves that are outside fighting a demon that looks like a man-bear-pig. Percival, Gash, and Vlad start helping the elves in fighting the man-bear-pig and Elise manages to prismatic spray the creature and turns it to stone, as a result. Survivors are brought inside and they are healed. Percival is then brought to our room and is allowed to sleep; Vandroy and Bjorn are already asleep when Percival arrives. The next morning the group discusses and Percival tells us about the man-bear-pig that he and Gash encountered. Bjorn decides to go to the mansion’s dungeon to interrogate the bald wizard that is actually part of the group that interrogated and tortured Bjorn. Bjorn starts to interrogate the man and asks about his order and how/why they go about interrogating people. The man is very hostile and unwilling to help at first so Bjorn stabs the man in the groin who Bjorn names Squirrely because he will not say his name. Bjorn manages to get out of the man that the elf half dragon god is only a pawn in their greater plan. Bjorn can’t seem to get the name of Squirrely’s lord, and Squirrely actually bites his tongue off and starts to bleed to death, but Bjorn heals him with his healing belt. Percival asks one of the guards what happened to the school and finds out that pretty much only the foundation remains and also is told that all of the main structures were attacked in a strategic manner. Since the city more or less advertised that they had a powerful magic school and temple to the gods it was fairly easy to target those structures. Gerard has rejoined the city guard by this point and will be joining city patrols that Percival is thinking of joining as well and Vandroy also agrees to do so. Percival then decides to go down to the dungeon to see how Bjorn is doing on the interrogation and Percival is quite scared of what Bjorn has done to Squirrely. Bjorn then tells Percival that Squirrely’s haven is actually floating aloft and they are responsible for attacking the city of Alabaster and that group also attacked Bjorn’s city, killed his family and interrogated/tortured him. Finally Percival tells Bjorn that he just wants to know if Bjorn is interested in joining the patrols that go around the city from time to time. The session then ends after Percival leaves the dungeon scared of what Bjorn is about to do. Bjorn is basically trying to discern if Squirrely knows if anymore attacks will happen and where, but Bjorn really isn’t able to find anything out both because Squirrely is now tongue-less and he is a low ranking member. Bjorn then asks if Squirrely wants to die and he nods; so Bjorn stabs him, heals him, and then stabs him once again finally kill him. X.P. is 2218 plus petition.

Session 12 Sunday May 8th, 2011 After Vandroy’s day of rest his uncle Vlad seeks him out and tells him that his parents died in the initial attack of the demons seeking out Vandroy. Vlad tells Vandroy that his parents intended to give him a gift when he graduated, but since that will likely never happen; Vlad just gives the gift to Vandroy now which is a headband of intellect +4. Vlad then tells Vandroy that he will likely replacing the former commander of the Azure Knights who is presumed to be dead, but his body has never been found. As Vandroy and the others go out on their missions to scout and search, one objective will be to find the commander and possibly claim a reward for finding him. It turns out that the former commander is Vandroy’s grandfather, but since Vandroy’s dad was an outcast being a magic user, the grandfather and Vandroy’s dad didn’t get along too well. The way the commanding hierarchy was setup was that there were two high lords running the Azure Knights. Vandroy’s grandfather was one with Vlad is currently acting in his absence, and the principal of the school is the other one who is a notably powerful spell caster. Eventually guards come up and tell us that Bjorn killed the prisoner and the guards actually casted Hold Person on him and locked him up for the time being until it can be decided what to do with him. After this Percival and Gerard head out on their mission fighting Hell Hounds as they go and eventually Percival hears his name called by Gerard because he spots a house that was completely untouched by the attack. It seems that the house is actually a flower shop and the owner, Jebb, is still there and all of the flowers are fresh. The man knows Percival’s name and says he is expecting Percival. Percival asks Jebb how his shop has survived the attack, and Jebb says that it must be because the demons don’t like flowers. Jebb tells Percival that he has gifts for him: a large spiked chain with hooks coming off of the spikes, the metal seems to be burnt with veins of fire inside the metal, and a belt buckle that has a birds head with a crystal beak and is warm to the touch, a pair of gloves to protect his hands from the chain and increase his strength, and a pair of boots made of a fine displacer beast leather that teleport the wearer a short distance a few times a day. After explaining the gifts Jebb promptly disappears and Percival is unable to figure out what spell Jebb casted. Gash, Elise, a random cleric and Vandroy then head out on a patrol to kill hell hounds, salvage food/tools. Eventually Gash feels that something familiar is coming close. Everyone but Elise sees a bright golden light coming towards us really fast and explodes right by us. After the explosion we see floating 15 feet up in the air next to us is a slender man shaped thing made of Mithril or Quicksilver that is animated. It has glowing runes on it and giant angel wings made of glowing light. Gash knows that the thing is a robot and it moves towards Gash and starts to talk to him calling him unit 01 Gashtaham. He calls himself the guardian and says he has to take Gash to the creator domain and then the two disappear after the guardian touches Gash on the shoulder. Gash arrives in a room where there are no windows but light coming in the room regardless. Gash sees random parts of machines and also the bodies of the machines the group has destroyed in the past. The guardian tells Gash that the creator no longer is alive and that he was the creator’s last creation. The guardian tells Gash that the creator never got around to finishing his installations such as new programs and weapons/body parts. After the processes are completed Gash notices that his sword and shield are gone but lying next to him is a different shield and a great sword that Gash is now perfectly competent in using. Both the shield and sword seem to be very old but still very well made. The shield is animated and protects gash while he uses his great sword. As Vandroy is sitting there trying to figure out what happened he sees a lightning bolt hit the ground but there are no clouds in the sky. As Vandroy and the others go to investigate they see a part of a building destroyed from the lightning bolt and standing in the crater is Tony’s character, Valgar Kordanson, who looks just like Tony does in real life. Valgar seems to be looking around confused. He tells Vandroy that he is from Valhalla and is sent on a mission to figure out why our warriors that are dying are going to a no name god. After introductions Gash re-appears in another flash of light with his upgraded weapons and armor. We then agree to go back to the mansion to report everything we have found. Once back at the mansion we go talk to Vlad and report everything to him. Eventually we all regroup and Percival and Valgar meet and we all see our upgraded gear and weapons. Upon finding out from Percival that Bjorn discovered that the former prisoner is part of the group that attacked his city as well as Alabaster. As a result we are sent on a mission to recover some magical artifacts from what is left of the arcadium so that the principal can contact other satellite human cities and warn them of a possible demon attack as it seems that the demons are attacking all of the human cities. We head out for the arcadium and upon getting there we see that most of the buildings and towers are intact enough to go inside and investigate them without worrying of them falling on us. Vandroy decides to cast fly on himself and float up the tower and notices several hell hounds feasting on long dead corpses as well as something moving towards the top of the tower that was not a hell hound. Vandroy floats down the tower and tells everyone about what he saw, so the group decides to head up the tower to find the principal’s magical items to contact the other human satellite cities. However, on the way to the tower we first encounter the school building and decide to investigate it. Upon entering we see utter carnage and month old bodies. Once we get to the tower area we enter the tower and start to climb the stairs. On the second floor of the tower seven hell hounds and one large one look up from eating their rotten corpses and attack us. The hellhounds go down relatively easily with the larger one doing a decent amount of damage to Valgar. Upon getting to the third floor, Vandroy casts invisibility on Percival so that he can scout ahead being as this is the room that Vandroy saw the weird creature moving around. Percival tries to move silently and manages to see that this room is much cleaner and in the corner trying to hide under a table is a girl in dirty robes who Percival recognizes as a sophomore girl of the school. Percival attacks a table and lights it on fire. The girl then runs up to Percival and kisses him shortly followed by Vandroy and Valgar and all three start to do whatever she wants them to do and the four head up to the fourth floor and the succubus asks us to have Gash stay behind, but Gash does not want to do that. Once inside the fourth floor the succubus has Valgar bar the door and inside is a huge smelly demon that the succubus assures us is not harmful. The smelly demon causes Percival to become sickened and then grabbed by the smelly creature which promptly bites him causing him to scream out in pain. The screaming causes Gash to break down the door. Valgar and Vandroy tell Gash to stop doing that as we are still under control of the succubus, though Percival is no longer under her control. Percival tumbles towards us and tries to tell us what is going on, but we refuse to acknowledge him and possibly see him as a threat. When Gash’s turn comes up he breaks down the door and attacks at the smelly demon and hits once, but misses critically the second time throwing his great sword 30 feet in front of him behind the succubus. Eventually the smelly demon drops a spell on the group that stops the succubus’ magic suggestions and we are all free to act. Vandroy casts a cyst on the succubus who then disappears after Valgar hits her quite hard with his hammer. The rest of the group then starts to attack the smelly demon and finish him off though it does take several attacks. After the battle we see the book that the Azure Knights were looking as well as a magical ring. The group is able to tell that there are only 7 of these rings in existence and the ring itself holds emotion from a god and if someone of good alignment uses it and makes a critical strike in combat it does extra damage 3 times a day. Percival takes this ring and Percival and Vandroy examine the book to determine it has a moderate divination aura to it. After grabbing the book and ring the group leaves the tower and starts to head back to the mansion. At the mansion we get back in after the process of having Vandroy fly in and get guards to lift the adamantine bar. Once inside we are congratulated for retrieving the book and Vandroy and Valgar go down to the dungeon which is completely furnished with a kitchen to make food. Valgar hits Bjorn in the head with his hammer in an attempt to knock him unconscious. The next day the high lord tells us that he sent messages to all of the other cities but that he hasn’t gotten responses from anyone yet so he wants to send a group of people to the city to the east called Vendria to see if there are any survivors and the condition of the town. We will also take Bjorn with us who will have the Geas spell put on him so that he has to complete the mission or else bad things will happen to him. To get to the Vendria we will have to take a boat into the ocean and around the continent, but we will have to check out the docks first to see if there is even a boat available to use. The next day on the way to the docks to check to see if we can find a ship we are attacked by more hell hounds of which two are the larger ones. The group is charged by the hounds and the group retaliates with various melee attacks while Vandroy takes to the sky and summon a skeletal dragon to aid the group. Valgar and Gash are hit with a breath weapon by the larger hell hounds while Percival smacks one of the larger hell hounds once with an arcane strike and critically misses with an un-arcane strike. Vandroy hits one of the larger hell hounds with an ice storm while the dragon attacks the other with a bite, claws, and a tail slap hitting with about half of his attacks. Eventually the group finishes off all of the hell hounds suffering only minor penalties and punishment. After the battle we cannot find any ship that is sailable but we do notice that there are tons of dead hell hounds all over the place, and Percival manages to hear snoring over all of the sea gulls and ocean waves and it seems to be coming from a particular shop. Inside the shop against a back wall is a man sleeping with a black bandana, dirty white tee shirt, green sash, black pants and black boots. Percival is able to discern that this guy is from the northern “Asian” land and he has two katanas and a wooden katana in his sash. When Vandroy comes into the house he recalls that this was the guy that he saw fighting a Balor at the academy and right afterwards there was an explosion. Vandroy tells the group that he recognizes this man. Valgar goes to wake the man up and he wakes up on his own and introductions take place. The man introduces himself as Zolo. Zolo tells us that when he was fighting a Balor at the academy it exploded when he killed it and he also tells us that he is a pirate. When we tell Zolo we are heading east to Vendria he pulls out a foldable boat and puts it in the water and it unfolds on itself until it becomes a huge galleon. We decide to re-pack the boat up so that we can head back to the mansion to pick up Bjorn and prepare to leave. Once back at the mansion Zolo almost kills the guards after falling through the floor and the guards think that we are being attacked, but Vandroy is able convince Vlad to calm down and Vandroy explains what has happened and that we met Zolo at the docks and that he has a boat and is in a hurry to leave. Vlad also gives Vandroy a key to Bjorn’s shackles and tells Vandroy to unlock them once we get on the ship. We start to head towards the dock and encounter one hell hound that Zolo massacres with only a couple swings of his katanas. Once at the dock we put the folding boat back in the water and start to leave heading towards Vendria which is about a week’s away. The boat is quite cramped because it fits 4 people comfortably but since there are 6 people it is pretty crowded. Zolo spends most of the time steering the ship single handily which is normally a job for several people. As we are traveling a huge storm comes out of nowhere and it causes Zolo to run around all crazy-like while a kraken sends its tentacles up at us surrounding the ship. The group manages to take down 5 tentacles but the remaining 3 grapple everyone in the group except Vandroy who turned into a dragon and flew up and then down and convinced Zolo to enter the battle while Vandroy tries to keep the boat from tipping over. Eventually Gash is able to take down the kraken with his missiles and save the group and Zolo rescues Valgar. After the battle the session ends. 5500 X.P. plus petition The items Vandroy finds in the Kraken's innards are: 400 platinum 6 sculptures Figurine of a bronze gryphon that turns into a gryphon.
