The group learned alot of the history of the world, in the last session, I'm going to add a bit to it and organize it here.
Dragon: they were the dominate creatures on the planet originally. they're society was very loose, with dragons having very little to do with each other outside of they're broods. the most powerful of the dragons named himself king, and killed any wyrm who argued, so after awhile the dragons just accepted it. the King had two offspring, a son and a daughter, which was odd, because at the time dragons would of have broods 5 times that large at least.
Humans: Its unsure if humans had always been around, or if they had somehow appeared late in the reign of the dragons, but they were first noticed when they started setting up permanent structures and farming in the plains. human society was communal, several family's would set up housing and farms near each other and would, generally, help each other out in times of need, which were often, when the small communities weren't under attack from orcs, they were being abducted by the dragons.
Halflings: halflings weren't noticed by the dragons at first, for a few reasons. they're resemblance to human children and While the humans tended to stay in the plains, halflings stayed in the forests where there was ample places to hide. because of they're small stature they were seen as easy pray by orcs and other predators, but what they lacked in strength, they made up in wits. they used hit and run tactics when forced to defend themselves and were constantly on the move.
Orcs: were (and are) a nomadic people, they lived by preying on anything that they thought was weaker than themselves. they're constant attacks on humans and halflings only came about because they thought it would be easier than hunting and making tools themselves, they're ways of thinking/living haven't changed much.
Kobalds: were the first of the dragons creations, made completely from scratch, the dragons wanted creatures that looked like themselves, but had the stature and intelligence of humans, the dragons didn;t quite hit the mark on any of those goals, it was eventually decided that the kobalds were a failure and to be destroyed, but the dragons didn't account for the birth rate of the kobalds, and by the time the decision was made, they had already spread far and wide, and were eventually deemed to much of a hassle to track down and kill all of them.
Elves: after the failure that was the kobalds, the dragons decided to use humans as a template, and adjust things from there. once again in they're vanity, the dragons wanted to make they're creation at least resemble them, so they made the elves have sharp, angular features, they also made the elf's lifespan alittle closer to they're own, in hopes that it would keep they're breeding speed low, to avoid another kobald disaster, and to make it so they wouldn't have to replace they're slaves to often. once the dragons completed the elves, they realized that they weren't as good at construction as they had hoped, but the elves proved to have other uses, like creating art and music.
Dwarves: since the elves they created couldn't construct the things the dragons wanted they went back to the drawing board, so to speak, and created the dwarves, they took the stature of the halflings, and the proportions of the humans to try and make slaves that were hearty and strong. this time around all sense of beauty was left out of the creation, as such, the dwarves were forced to live deep inside the mountains where they were carving out huge dwellings for the dragon. while deep in the mountains, the dwarves leaned of metals, and were the first to work steel, something that would cause much trouble for the dragon sin the future.
demi-orcs: many dragons found it amusing to watch the orc raids on the humans, but grew bored of the single mindedness of the orcs, they wanted to see how the humans would react to something as smart as them, but as strong as the orcs, so they created hundreds of demi-orcs and placed them near human settlements, where they started fighting. once the demi-orcs settled into the world, it was found out that they're society was as much a combination of human and orc, as they were. females would tend to livestock while the men gathered together into hunting/raiding parties. It should be noted that, although it is unknown why, the demi-orcs eventually stopped raiding human villages.
Gnomes: the last of the dragons creations, gnomes were created by bored dragons, who decided to see what would happen when they combined they're slaves, the elves and dwarves. the outcome was a strange creature, similar in looks to the halflings, the intelligence of the elves and the heartiness of the dwarves and a strange sort of inquisitiveness and an even stranger way of thinking, the dragons tended to use them as jesters and trinket makers, though it wasn't uncommon for them to be used to help the dwarves or elves with they're work.
