Something I read in one of the Jedi Counselings caused me to look up a rule in the Core book, and it turns out there's a rule in Star Wars that I didn't know of (I'm pretty sure it isn't the same in D&D, otherwise I would have heard of it by now).
On the first round, you are considered flat-footed until your turn comes up. That means that if you win initiative, you get to hit people without their dexterity or dodge bonuses (unless they have uncanny dodge), and if you have sneak attack dice, you get to sneak attack with your first attack.
So I'll let you guys put it to a vote whether to implement this rule or not (rewards high dex bonuses even more, and makes Improved Initiative a VERY good feat). I'll only vote in the case of a tie.
Not that I play in this game, but I don't like that rule as a former/current/whatever DM. As a player its great, but it could be a royal pain in the ass if you are the DM, but then again everything can be delt with somehow.
