Eh. Typical 70s horror. Not horrible, not great.
The premise of the movie is pretty stupid. A cult is discovered in 1970s London that commits sacrifices and such in satanic rituals. But many of London's elite are members of the cult, led by a mysterious business tycoon whom no one has ever seen, and who refuses to be photographed or grant interviews.
Scotland Yard calls in an expert named Van Helsing (presumably descended from the one in Bram Stoker's novel), who learns that one of the cult's members is a scientist that he was once friends with. So Van Helsing visits the scientist and learns that he is creating a new strain of the bubonic plague to unleash on the world, at the cult's orders. When Van Helsing reasons with him and makes him realize how stupid this is, the cult kills the scientist.
So a little more detective work and Van Helsing realizes that the cult leader, as he suspected, is none other than Count Dracula. So he goes to the cult meeting, rescues the girl who was about to be sacrificed, and kills Dracula. One of the cult members becomes infected with the new plague strain and dies almost instantly but it gets contained.

Here's another one that was suggested to me: How about Kiera Knightley playing the role of Padmé in the new Star Wars trilogy? You might know her from Pirates of the Caribbean. Natalie Portman is not much of an actress, as shown by her terrible performance in all three movies. I think Ms. Knightley would have done a much better job.

And quite frankly I think she's more attractive as well. There I said it now let the angry replies come because there are a lt of people I know that would get mad over that statement.

Here's another of my picks for recasting in movies. My pick for an adult Anakin Skywalker. His name is Patrick Currie and he's appeared as Fifth, the Human replicator in Stargate SG-1.

As for why I chose him not only does he look evil in that picture once he does snap and go evil he is aboe to tourture without mercy. He even goes on to say how the others would never know the plesure of torture and revenge.

Brian Blessed to be Odin in a movie. The man with the helmet. Imagine with fuller and darker armor perhaps with a black cape. Then with a longer and white beard, and I think he could make an Odin. Its mainly his voice and the way he acts I think that suites him for a good role as an Odin. hes played the King in Black Adder and the leader of the gungans in Star Wars episode one.

Good pick. I just also want to voice how funny I find it that we've picked on the new Star Wars trilogy a lot in here.

That's because there's so many things we don't like about it. Especially the casting of the main two roles. I already gave my suggestion for Anakin at the beginning of this thread.

Not that I have any problems with Qui-Gon in fact he's what made Episode I a movie that was worth watching. I just think that Christopher Heyerdahl would have worked just as well. He is on Stargate Atlantis. Interesting piece of trivia as well he's in Blade 3 and they used part of the Stargate Atlantis set in the movie.

Ive seen an episode with him in it. He does look just like Qui-Gon and could probably do just as good a job. I agree both men could of done the role with neither being better then the other.
