I picked up the Stargate SG-1 RPG book on Friday. Thanks to a large number of problems I've delayed the Rune game. The delays are going to be even longer because I'm looking to run a nice relaxing and smooth game of Stargate instead. Since the standard team is 4 peole i'vealready got my players lined up. So this explains any further delay in the Rune game.

I thought about how I wanted my character to look like. This picture is close enough to what I imagined. It's about the same hair style and beard that my charater will have. If they make me shave it in the military then I will have no choice. But I will show up at the base like that when first called.

Well I'm glad you got the book. This sounds fun and easier to learn than Rune b/c I think you mentioned it's d20.

Yeah its D20 with some fun twists. Humans are no longer simply a bonus feat at 1st level and extra skill points. Depending on what you choose to be such as a civillian or someone from some sort of millitary branch determines your starting abilities.

I found out there's only 5 books and they are not making any new ones in the near future. The company releasing them was unable to renew thier contract thanks to the jerks at Sony.

In some ways yes and in other it's not. I'm afraid that if I don't get the other books soon we will see th obscene prices wanted for the Star Wars book. Starships of the Galaxy isn't worth 69 dollars new so i'm sure not paying that for a used copy.

Few things Stargate works with the wounds and vitality system. There are 6 base classes and i'll try to give a breif description of them. There's the Eplorer who is what the name says. They are people who explore the world for any number of reasons be it for some sort of research or if thier just eccentric millionaires who like to do crazy things. Next is Guardian which is more or less a Jaffa class so unless someone ever wants to play as a Jaffa I haven't looked it over yet. There's the Pointman who seems to be more of a leader and from what I've read pretty cool. Then there's the scientist which can be fun if you want to play someone who's a communications expert. Well, that's what I'd do as a scientist. There's the Scout who's good at living in rough less than modern conditions And finally we come to the Soldier. The Soldier of course is the fighter of Stargate but they get more than jsut bonus feats.

Oh and multiclassing is encouraged. The only penalty for doing it is each class has a core ability that you only get at 1st level. So when you multiclass you don't get the other classes core ability.
