You may know him from such roles as Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz on the Simpsons, and possibly from his role on the show News Radio (where he was eventually replaced by fellow SNL cast member Jon Lovitz), but SNL contains funny Phil Hartman moments to rival his best in those shows. And at the low price of $5.50 from the Walmart sale bin, could not be passed up.
Included here are a wide variety of skits. I had no idea he could play such a funny Frankenstein, for one. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time remembering the exact skits (this was the first of the 3 SNL collections I watched yesterday), but I remember laughing at almost all of them.
The special features are great as well, including a deleted skit (one of the 25 minutes of extra skits they cut during dress rehearsal before every night's show), as well as a blooper reel and Phil Hartman's audition to join Saturday Night Live, which is absolutely hilarious. He does several celebrity impressions, spot on, but speaks in German. His wasn't the first John Wayne impression I'd ever heard, but definitely the first in German.
Definitely worth the $5.50 price. Probably worth paying $10 or even $15 for.

Sounds good...I really like Phil...I'll have to swing by and pick this one up.
Houseguest with him and Sinbad is one of my favorites.
Last time I was at Walmart, I saw a copy of Death Wish 4 in the bargain bin and snatched it up...love me some good Bronson.

I remember a few of the skits now! Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer was great, and Phil Hartman had the BEST Bill Clinton impression ever!
