I can accept the abscence of Tellah though. No one more then I would love to see a new plot device added where you can go on a quest to revive Tellah, just like all the rumors about Aeries and FF7. But I gave this alot of thought and perhaps its best if things remain the way they are because it leaves Tellah dying as a hero. Also we do get to see his ghost at the very end so that makes me happy. FF4,5,6 and 7 all followed the tradition of one important person dying. Its weird, the kind of things you can find online valice.net/deadtellah.jpg

I was thinking the other day that norse mythology might be more important to the story of Final Fantasy 4 then what appears on the surface. Ill post my theory on this latter. It basically explains the king of barron and his connection to odin, and the importance of gungnirs placement.

It's amazing how much Norse Mythology pops up in games. It's also amazing how deeply in this game and Wild Arms 3 as well.

Yeah the world of Wild Arms is very rich in Norse and Middle Eastern mythology. A little bit of other mythologies too. But Norse in particualr was all over the place. Very strange for a planet which is dominately a cowboy westeren civilization with fantasy elements. I think it implies the planet of Figalia has close ties to the planet Earth in a very Stargate like manner. Especially when considering the spaceship filled with ancestral humans spoken about in Wild Arms 3.

Whats even more amazing is how much more deeply the norse mythology aspect gets in this remake. Ive been to the bonus dungeon at the end. Odin gives Cecil a test to prove himself worthy of a paladin and you complete it, Odin then rewards you by giving you a powerful sword Lightbringer thats stronger then Ragnarok and Excalibur. Odin challenges you to another fight and then says Cecil has proven himself as a good paladin.
At first I didn't like the fact Cecil had yet another sword stronger then his Excalibur, but the way they done it was much better then I was expecting. Though as cool as this story sounds the trial that Kain goes through is even cooler and I don't want to spoil that surprise. He gets a new special spear thats stronger then the holy lance and gungnir, but it has a fitting name and his trial justifies it.

Sounds good. I've been training up so I can beat the game in the first place.

I just got Thor's Hammer and Cid is amazingly powerful. Between him and Cecil I'm plowing through monsters on the moon and I haven't even hit lv50 yet.

Go to where the wicked Masks live. Thor's Hammer does a garanteed 9999 on them each time.

Ive been to the 9 trials within the Lunar ruins. Some are really fun and some are extremely annoying. I believe I got the best equipment for everyone possible, except a ribbon for Cecil and Cid.
1.Cecil (Very Fun)
2.Kain (Long but especially Fun)
3.Rydia (Fun for seeing some special people in action)
4.Cid (Just plain fun)
5.Edward (Can be annoying but very interesting. A good one over all)
6.Rosa (Quick and not much to it. Can be annoying if you try to save everyone to earn her white ring. For the white ring this was an annoying one.)
7.Yang (Annoying, had to fight monk after monk after monk. The prize was good at least.)
8.Palom and Parom (Annoying switch in and out character quest like the two towers from FF5 that had holy and flare.)
9.Edge (Now this one is flat out nasty. Have fun with this one)
Anyway when you complete these trials you faced super strong versions of the summoned monsters. Heres who they are and whos trial you fight them in.
1.Lunar Dragon-Rydia's trial 2.Lunar Ifrit-Edge trial 3.Lunar Shiva-Edward trial 4.Lunar Ramuh-Cid trial 5.Lunar Titan-Yang trial 6.Lunar Odin-Cecil trial 7.Lunar Asura-Rosa trial 8.Lunar Leviathan-Parom and Palom trial 9.Lunar Bahamut-Kain trial

When your done with the 9 trials you get a grimore that allows you to summon the lunar version of the summoned monsters just once. Once they are used they are gone, but you can redo the trial to get them back.

Norse theme team rules
Since Ive gotten the best equipment Im now going to seriously do a norse theme team to go through the lunar ruins and redo 5 of the trials.(And in hopes of picking up two ribbons for Cecil and Cid which is possible) Then go and fight Zermous with a pure norse team.
1.Cecil: May use LightBringer or Ragnarok.
LightBringer counts since it was a reward from Odin to Cecil. It randomly casts holy but some enemies use reflect and it will deflect the holy, so keep the Ragnarok in the inventory and switch to it with a boss casts reflect on himself. LightBringer and Ragnarok both count as norse weapons.
2.Cid: May use Thor's Hammer
He gets a final extra hammer thats a little stronger and randomly casts flare called Fiery hammer but flare can be deflected too and its only a little stronger. Personally I think its name is a little stupid too.
3.Edward: May use Loki's Lute
Nothing to say its the best weapon for Edward. I still keep the Apolos harp for what it is but never use it anymore.
4.Kain: May use Gungnir
Kain has the Holy Lance which is stronger. And his other ultimate lance found in the lunar ruins which is much stronger then both. However these aren't norse weapons. And Kain really can do devestating damage with Gungnir at level 99 and his special double jump move he gets from his special gloves. Gungnir is Odin's Lance after all. Of you should still keep the other lances, just not for this theme team thing.
5.Rydia:Because she can summon Odin.
Rydia has a connection the summoned monsters and can Summon Odin, though I would mainly use her for Bahamut. Still she counts as the last norse related party memeber making for a fully norse party. Otherwise Id say use a white mage. But all my men are at 99 and have 50 mega elixers and 99 elixers. I am free to select whoever I want. Usage of Bahamut still proves very useful for getting past reflect and attacking multiple targets and its faster then Meteo.
And there you have it. It just so happens these 5 guys also contain my 5 favorite trials out of 9 so I don't mind doing them as much as the others. Now onward to the ribbons and the end of the game.
