and while i was completly unaware of the vistani's connection with strahd, but as for the darklords, i am aware of the fact that, if the term is used at all, only the smallest number of people know of it and what it exactly entails. As I recall it, the Vistani have a sort of deal where they're allowed free passage through Barovia, and nobody in Barovia will mess with them. In exchange they basically keep their eyes and ears open wherever they go and just sort of let him know what's going on everywhere. If I'm not quite right in this (it HAS been awhile since I've played in or read anything Ravenloft, after all), hopefully somebody will correct me here. Thats right. Though never really said I like to think Strahd allows them also because he doesn't know their true potential and power or what they are capable of, if ticked off. However they have always helped him, so why look a gift horse in the mouth so to speak.

Well Madame Eva at least definitely has untold power. Somebody actually killed her once... and yet she's still around and none the worse for wear.

I always got the impression they chose to even stay in Ravenloft. THey just appear out of nowhere and unlike anyone else seem to know where they are going in the mist. Seems to me if a door out exists in them ists they would d**n well know and guard such a secret with thier lives. When the deal was struck with Strahd it felt more like a matter of convienance. Besides the Vistani are proud and are not really welcome anywhere else and just do thier own thing.

Alex, I'm free this Saturday, actually, from 4:30 to 10:30. If you have no other plans I'm free to play your game. Just wanted to let you know.

If Alex's game doesn't work out due to plans, other games, whatever I wanted to mention that I should be able to do my game assuming at least a couple people are available/willing.

Turns out I've been invited to a party by a friend from college that day. Not sure of the hours or how far away it is yet, so I might not be able to make it. Depending on where/when it is, maybe I can come late or leave early or something, though. I'll let you know for sure one way or the other when I find out.

So I finally broke down and bought the 3.5 core rulebooks. Its quite frustrating only knowing 3.0 and playing in a 3.5 game. The little rule changes are enough to drive one nuts, so I figured at the very least I can know both rules depending on the game I'm playing in/running.

The whole thing is available for free online, but it's still a pain in the butt to deal with, even if you do have internet access while you're gaming.

Yeah, personally, I absolutely hate looking at books on a computer even for a minor detail. I'd much rather spend the money for the book(s) and have it physically, but thats just me I'm sure. Plus I got all three books for $50 so I can't complain too much.
